We drove a long way to see Framlingham Castle. It’s famous from the 16th century (Queen Mary) but not much is left other than the walls and surrounding ditch. But to be charged nearly £10 by English Heritage to get in for a walk around...More

Although the castle is interesting it is the location that made such a good day for use, a really nice small town, the castle grounds were full of people enjoying the sun, kids shooting down a slide inside the castle. A good little cafe and...More

The castle overlooks the mere, which has a superb circular walk where wildlife is abundant. Super in spring / summer. Some amazing views during Winter too. Free parking is available right next to the mere, bring some wellies.

We spent an excellent half day at the Castle with our 8 and 10 years old grandchildren. It's a proper Castle and you can walk all around the top of the walls and, at the end, slide down a huge tubular slide to the inside...More

Visited with the kids (aged 4 and 6) in the Autumn half term break. They loved it! There is plenty of parking around the site; entrance cost was c£9 adult, £5 for children, free for under-5s. The town centre is very pretty and close by,...More

Loved this place, certainly worth a visit. We used the audio tour which was very informative and interesting, there was also an option for alternative commentary for younger visitors, I had a quick listen to this and it was such fun, my children would have...More
