This museum is an odd thing. It is at the site of a modern factory that makes a traditional sort of paper. By car or taxi (don't know about buses), you start at the entrance gate where friendly staff point out where to go. Two stories of exhibit tell the story of paper in general and of hanji in particular.... More

Besides that it is a beautiful museum. It is free. We did the paper class and was a great experience. The staff were helpful and patience since we were a really big group. Recommend it!

Free, well-curated, family-friendly museum about paper--its history, varieties, process, and products. It's a small museum (I'd give 1 hour to 1 hour and half), but very informative museum that offers all you need to know about paper. I really enjoyed paper history presentation there from pre-historic period until today. The comparison among different kinds of paper in China, Japan, and... More

Amazing interactive museum. History, make your own paper, and lots of great hanji souvenirs to be bought.

Museum is located within the headquarters of a large paper company. In addition to exhibits on the paper-making process, they have a live demonstration where you dip a screen into a slurry of bark fibers and end up with your own sheet of paper. Some kids might enjoy doing that. We arrived about an hour before closing and felt that... More

This museum is located inside the Jeonju Paper Mills. A paper factory actually. It was located about 20-30 min by taxi. Since we departed from our guesthouse, we took taxi to the museum. Advisable for you to write down the full address and the phone number and showed it to the taxi driver. Don't assume they know where this place... More

There is some workshop which you can coloring on hanji products. I have bought some souvenir here which is Hanji Doll that in traditional costume. Quite nice in buying some Korean Hanji products.

The museum, located in a functioning museum on the outskirts of the city, is a taxi or bus ride from the city center, but don't let that discourage you. For one thing, the admission is free (which will counteract the taxi fare). For another, the museum is very professional, spacious and well-appointed: the creator clearly spent a lot of money... Jeonju Hanji Museum -- we were introduced to the history of Korean hanji paper making from the inner bark of the Korean paper mulberry. There are displays of old paper making and how the trees were harvested and stripped for paper making. There is a fine museum of paintings on the hanji paper and other types of artwork. We all...
