Spent 2-3 hours at the Ocean Aquarium of Penglai. It was a big place with lovely fish and interesting shows, especially the "mermaid show" was nice. The place seemed like a maze with many levels. The dolphin show was very loud and it had a lot of talking in Chinese, so it was a bit disappointing.

lots of fish. I did not like that they were throwing coins at the crocodiles, they were even selling coins to throw at the poor animal. lovely dolphin show though and great gift shop.

Spent 3-4 hours in this nice waterpark. Many strange spices of fish and other water related creatures. Also a 4D cinema, and a watershow worth viewing. Nise architecture so you get a feeling of wandering in a jungle. It can be quite crowded, and many children running around, so be pasient.

10 of the dolphins at this 'entertainment' park were chased into a cove in Taiji, Japan. The one's deemed fit enough by 'trainers' were bought whilst the rest of the Dolphin family were brutally slaughtered in from of the captured dolphins eyes. They swam in the blood of their dead families. The ‘trainers’ watched as this all happened. Before you... More

These dolphins were stolen and the rest of their pods slaughtered in Taiji, Japan. They do not belong in small tanks performing for people. They belong with their families in the ocean. BOYCOTT all marine parks that use marine mammals for entertainment purposes. please.

10 of the dolphins at this park were stolen from the wild ! Once living with their families, in their home , the ocean. Now destined for a life of captivity ! All for the sake of entertainment . Taiji fishermen slaughter 100's of dolphin and other small cetaceans every year . The 'pretty' ones are picked and plucked from... More

Unfortunately I had the opportunity to know that, at least 10 of dolphins of this park where brought from Taiji in Japan. So it certain that this 10 dolphins were brought alive here while many others were killed in a very cruel and inhumane fashion. I rather suggest other places to see dolphins, like near the sea, instead of this... More

The aquarium is massive and very well done. All animals seemed to be well looked after and we saw things we have never seen before. Whilst signs have some English they tend to be very inaccurate. Reflecting that Penglai is aimed at domestic tourism, we felt like part of the attraction ourselves as quite rare western visitors and were stopped... More
