The photograph on this page is erroneous- this is not the Mo'er Pagoda ruins. This was a Buddhist shrine built during the Tang Dynasty in the 7th century, and subsequently wrecked, by parties unknown- perhaps Muslims?- in the 12th Century. It's a good short excursion...More

It's a little bit far away from Kashgar and there is no public transport. I went there by bicycle, and it took me a bout 2 hours. It's half ruined, but the shape remains. it's asaid to be the only Buddhism building in this area.
