Walking through the tunnels, you couldn't help but feel the tension that soldiers on patrol here must have felt during the times of crisis with the mainland. Be sure to go to the fortified observation bunker to watch maritime traffic sail by.

MaShan is at the closest point to mainland China. Through the large –sized binoculars, we can see the scenes across the sea if weather permit. It used to have powerful loud speakers for propaganda purpose. It would broadcast, “Mainlanders are (under) Deep Water and (facing)...More

It was one of those deserted military facilities which used to be an observation point monitoring activities along the coast line of Xiamen, China. A small quiet place for an non obstructive view of Xiamen from kinsman island.
