We stayed at Leaplish for 4 nights and it was extremely enjoyable. Our main objective was cycling and whilst the options for road cycling were limited (mountain biking would be excellent) the local roads are in very good condition. We managed a couple of excellent rides (also see my post re fabulous espresso in Bellingham) and the lack of vehicle... More

Our first visit back in the 70's was before the Kielder reservoir existed and the area was dotted with small communities which now lie under water. The various owners over time have invested in making this a tourist attraction, a wildlife sanctuary, a cycling bonanza, a country park with pubs and restaurants etc. Leaplish is particularly beautiful and the views... Lodge was warm, well equipped and nicely furnished for a lodge that allows dogs. Ideally situated for all the activities around Kielder, the onsite pool has to be booked so is never crowded and... We had a great view down to the waters edge while laying in the hot tub which was screened for privacy. The staff were friendly and helpful, the hot tub checked... More

We booked for a week ( fri to fri) for Feb half term. We are a family if 4 with twin 9 year old boys. We tend to book a lodge holiday every year for Feb as we enjoy the forest atmosphere. This was the best we have stayed in so far. The lodges are excellent and very well maintained... More

Arrived at Leaplish for a much needed 'recharging of batteries'. Staff really welcoming and very helpful. Really could not be more pleasant. Log cabin (Tynedale Superior) beautifully furnished, clean and very cosy. Downside was log cabins FAR too close together and you did not feel 'secluded'. Felt more like a caravan site with the space between them. Competition for car spaces... More
