Although a plateau, Kaas (~300 km from Mumbai and ~25 km from Satara) is often referred to as 'Maharashtra's valley of flowers'. Unfotunately, a beautiful place by itself, it does not have any similarity with the Valley of Flowers located in the Garhwal Himalayas. When you reach Kas plateau, flowers are seen all around. Tipically one kind of flower at one place, the repeation of the same flower also happen.It's a wonderful experience.

The government of Maharashtra is the worst at designing spots like these for viewing, they want to keep the people away, and invite them at the same time. Parking is two kilometres away! with no last-mile transport, so everyone instead ends up illegally parking near the plateau and further destroying nature.

Kaas is a beautiful Plateau with a beautiful lake. I have been to this place n number of times since the year 1988 whenever I want to de-stress myself and want to be with the nature. it is almost 20 kilmeter from the main city , the city and the roads are not congested. the approach is nice and well maintained. the place is nice but I went in January so hardly any green patch or the flowers to see. but vast and barren plateu. worth going round for a while. would like to visit in... Stunning natural area, great for reptiles and birds. Very close to Satara, its a very convenient area to spend the day. Would highly recommend if you're in the area.

The Kaas plateau is a world heritage site. There are various types of flowers having different types and colours. Through this review I just wanted to appeal the visitors that PLEASE DON"T LITTER OUR WORLD HERITAGE SITE !!!!!

This is very nice place and less crowded. Awesome and pleasant atmosphere. 25 km away from Satara. You can spent time with family as a 1 day trip from Satara.

I visited during Oct 2nd week and could not find any flowers and hardly few remaining. While many article says you can go till Oct end which is not correct. While I could see flower but can image how beautiful it will look with all flowers with different colors. Please plan to walk at lot to see around entire area.... More
