It was a disappointment. I've seen pictures of crystal clear blue water of Oshino Hakkai but it was not that clear during my visit. The water are murky. You still can see fishes swimming. Not worth the visit as it looks like an ordinary pond....More

This is a great little town. Not far away from Lake Kawaguchi and there is no entry fee. It’s very peaceful and nice town to walk around if you have some time. It may take about 2-3 hours to walk around the whole site. And...More

Around 30mins from kawaguchi lake, oshino hakkai offers 8 crystal clear ponds and very traditional Japanese houses. A lot of soveniers shops and local delicacys to be tasted here. Do spend 300yen and visit the museum.

Very pretty, the water was nice and a lot of cool little shops. I was only there for 30 minutes and I wish I was there a bit longer, but i managed to see most of it.

A very popular spot. Take some empty water bottles, so you can enjoy the taste of fresh pure water filtered through the earth. Plenty of side stalls for something to eat. Take a walk through the local village and enjoy the sights of the snow...More

A delightful hour or so at these spring water pools. Pretty busy but not horrendous Several shops selling tat and touristy stuff but the more interesting stalls and food are on the side streets

One of the World heritage cites in Japan, this village provides unique experience of Japanese village, art and culture of old time. So beautiful, nice landscaping with clean water ponds, and the warm welcoming form the villagers are unbeatable experiences for me.
