They haven't quite got it right yet but its getting there. This place is the new home of CCRCP & is about 1.5 hours out of Chengdu & is less visited by tourists. You volunteer for the day & your fee goes to helping the centre. You get up close & personal with the Pandas, Clean out their cages, poop... More

Looking at those pandas really soothing us and forget about all our problems. They look so relaxing and enjoying the places so much. The younger pandas we're keep playing, climbing the trees up and down. The older one just ate or siting down or sorry to say 'scratching their behind'! Old or young they still look adorable. We were based in a hostel within the conservation centre which was located near Lougantai, Zhouzhi county. (Approx 1.5 hours' drive from Xi-An). You work Monday to Friday each week and we arrived the Friday before... More

If you are heading to china make a stop in chengdu to see the giant pandas. We did the "volunteer experience" where you clean the panda night pens & feed them apples. A big highlight for all of us in our family. Never knew pandas had such character
