Hatley Castle is a beautiful building with an interesting history. The grounds allow you a pleasant stroll in the forest and great place for the children to burn off energy on the walking trails. You pay for parking.

We went to take a tour, despite not being able to book it in advance or reach anyone by phone. It isn't easy to find the castle on the campus of the Royal Roads University, but other reviewers have explained the route more completely. When...More

Must see. We walked around the castle and ‘Royal Roads’ University’. Beautiful garden around the castle and felt very relaxed coming out of there.

Lovely gardens in the grounds surrounding the castle and impressive building and architectural details - a nice bit of history to see.

A really beautiful castle and grounds. The tour is way overpriced and they only take you through the gardens (which is free anyway) and the main floor of the castle. When we were there we went allowed in a couple of the rooms or gardens...More

Craigdarroch Castle is better know but this one is far prettier and built by the son of the owner of Craigdarroch. It's about a half hour outside Victoria on the campus of Royal Roads University (former military school). Keep driving toward the water until you...More
