Typical superficial tourist area. Poor quality food, tatoo shop, made in china stuff, too sound and bad music in the street. Nothing new there....a tourist trap.

Was recommended by the hotel to visit on a Friday night. Was not disappointed! Loads of small stalls set up along the alleyway with people selling local handicrafts, food, drinks & souvenir. People sometimes come to Ko Samui and not see the likes of Fisherman...More

There are LOADS of market stalls here selling so many different things, and of course much is locally made, including some very nice “art and craft” things. As usual here, everybody is very friendly.

It is a nice place to wander around, much like the title says. Some good coffee shops, restaurants, and massage parlours. Nice for killing a few hours.

If you’re in Samui on a Friday, you should go (assuming you don’t mind crowds). In addition to the usual store fronts, the streets are lined with vendors selling everything from quail eggs on a stick to t-shirts to crocodile meat. Mostly filled with tourists,...More

It’s still good fun and not too tacky but has become a pastiche of itself . However there are a couple of good restaurants ( 2 fishes my favourite) and Karma Sutra always excellent fun.

Great atmosphere and loads of yummy restaurants on the beach to choose from. Many food stores and you must try the pancakes and corn on the cobs from the stores. Can get very busy.

I wouldn't say it is any more expensive than the Chaweng Beach area in regards to eating and drinking, however I could not comment on accommodation costs, as we stayed in neither place. It has a range of quite basic Thai... More
