Excellent place to feel the presence of our past. I have visited several of the American cemeteries over seas and this is a great choice. Take in the scenery and absorb some history. Makes me proud to be an American!

Two of the places we visited in Italy were very special. The Sicily–Rome American Cemetery and Memorial, a cemetery near Anzio, Italy for American military personnel who were killed in World War II, and The Florence American Cemetery and Memorial about 2 miles south of...More

This was our third trip to the cemetery. We had discovered it by accident in 2004, took friends to it in 2012, and brought our adult children and their spouses to it May 23. For anyone with a sense of WW II history this is...More

This very beautiful cemetery is located outside of Florence and it is an honor to be able to pay respects, to the over 4,000 fallen, who rest there. We have visited other war cemeteries and this is very hallowed with the many crosses and Star...More

So many lives lost, lines and lines of graves, arrayed over a hillside in a now peaceful valley. An excellent memorial at the top, with a beautiful chapel and detailed WWII historical murals. All maintained in immaculate condition. A visit to remember.

You cannot help but get emotional at this site. A lasting tribute to our fallen soldiers of WWII. The more than 4000 interred here as their final resting place is a place of honor and valor.

This US cemetery gave me a story of the sacrifices many young men have made for our world during WWII. This memorial is very well done and I was impressed at how they honored each soldier buried there on their birthdays. This really touched my...More

The cemetery is very close to Florence (less than 10 miles). We had arranged a private tour and our tour guide made the stop on the way to the Chianti wineries. You could take a taxi or the bus.
