Beautiful little town
Jul 2019 • Friends
This is a charming hill town, which Italy is famous for. We walked through the walls to the city, and meandered through the historical old streets to our restaurant. It was quiet and beautiful.

Charming!
Jul 2019
Fiumefreddo Bruzio is a small charming town, with narrow and cozy streets. From the castle you can admire the gorgeous Tyrrhenian sea and if you catch the sunset, the view is even more amazing.

Charming village with incredible views
Oct 2018
What a special place to visit. We went here on the recommendations of family who have visited. The town is so small and charming! There's a view point with coastal views to die for! Walking through the ruined castle also has wonderful view. We stopped for lunch in this village as well and had one of the best meal of our entire trip.

One of the most beautiful towns in Italy

Been vacationing here for over 20 years since my family is from the area. Beautiful old town with medieval castle looking overlooking the marina. Amazing vistas and beautiful beach. Everything you want from an Italian vacation away from tourist trap destinations. See for yourself

Lovely little town
Apr 2016
Perched on a hillside with panoramic views, Fiumefreddo is well worth a visit. The castle is now restored and open, lovely little restaurants, coffee bars and gelateria tucked away down the always clean side streets, not to mention the "Library of Beer! Don't quite undertsand the statue of the large nude surfer but, who cares. Conuained within ancient fortifications, Fiumefreddo is a must see town if you are in this area.

An undiscovered gem of a place
Oct 2014 • Couples
This town is unbelievable, perched way up on a mountain with fantastic ocean views. Originally had 5 churches and 6 monasteries or convents. A (now destroyed in WWII) castle built by the Normans and then the Spanish. Lovely winding streets. Art (paintings and sculpture) in churches and public plazas of one of Italy's most famous artists. Europeans know about it but apparently few Americans come, much like the rest of Calabria which is rarely visited by Americans. That is their loss but perhaps that is why the area and this town have retained its great atmosphere and good restaurants.

Another Borghi Piu Belli d'Italia!
Sep 2014 • Couples
We love to visit the medieval towns on this list! Many of these "borghi" have castles and ancient churches, palaces and lots of beautiful antiquity - we love to wander the tight vias and under the arches, never knowing what we will find around the next corner! Great panoramic views from the castle as well as on the piazza - beautiful day or night especially with a lovely gelato in hand!
