Three great days of diving in the north and south of Phu Quoc. The staff; Julien, Jo, and Dang of Flipper Diving Club were professional and fun and since I dived on three consecutive days ensured I went to new sites each dive. For an additional 40 USD per day (2 dives) I was able to hire a private guide which allowed me to spend as much time as I liked taking pictures without slowing a group down. Jo was my guide and very experienced and safety conscientious so I knew I was in good hands! He also managed to spot so many things I wouldn't have seen myself. The pick up in the morning at the resort was punctual and the vehicle was comfortable. We dived from a different rented boat each day which all had lots of room and were easy to dive from. Apparently, this is the norm here and most all dive clubs rent the boat. All the boats had a shower or fresh water available to rinse off after the dives, a sun deck up top to relax, and served a nice lunch with plenty of food. Fresh water and coffe/tea were provided and soda or beer was available after the dives but cost extra. I can't comment on the gear as I had brought my own but it looked fine.
There are some nice sites here! Lots of nice corals but only smaller fish. Saw several different species of nudibranch. I definitely liked the sites to the south better. A longer day going to the south though but worth it in my opinion. If you only have one day for diving definitely try to go south.

I couldn't have chosen a better crew to experience my first boat dive!
I had a response from Willy, at the Flipper Diving office within an hour of requesting information about the tour.
After getting picked up from the beach at my hotel (which was great fun) the boat trip continued to Turtle Island, NW of Phu Quoc.
All the equipment was provided and I was well looked after by my dive master Quan, (crazy man Quan), who quickly became a good friend.
Quan has over 25+ years diving experience and the reefs are his home.
He has something particularly special to show his divers at each site (North and South), which were both fascinating, but I won't spoil the surprise.
The food served on the journey back to the hotel was delicious and definitely hit the spot.
The entire trip had a very relaxing feel and the crew (as well as the fellow divers) were all warm, welcoming and always happy to help with a smile.
I enjoyed the trip so much, I went 3 times in 4 days!
The first time was to take my partner snorkeling and the following two days were to dive.
I completed 4 dives, around 43 to 45 minutes each to a depth varying between 8 to 10 meters. The water was murky in places, but visibility was definitely good enough to enjoy exploring the reefs and the price is very reasonable.
Thanks to Quan, Jo and the rest of the crew for looking after me.
An absolutely brilliant experience, it made my holiday!
As and when I come to Phu Quoc again, I'll definitely hope on board for another dive!

Our two days of diving in the south of Phu Quoc were memorable for the professional service, great people that we met, and positive diving experiences. The reef is in good condition and it was fun to see large coral, octopus, anemone, and colorful fish. Our dive masters, Phong on day 1 and Jo on the second day, took great care in guiding us through various conditions and cool structures in the reef. My son and I gained confidence and had such fun on these trips, I definitely recommend them for anyone ready to dive or learning to dive.

Sent a web enquiry from their site and a WhatsApp to their advertised number and heard nothing back. Disappointing ☹️. The WhatsApp says delivered but hasn’t even been read despite it saying they have been online regularly- and yes checked email junk folder to for email reply.

Had a really great experience with them. They're very friendly and helpful with any requirements. Dives were pretty good but again depends a lot on the weather/season. Very good value for money overall. The dive boat is really nice and the food post dives really hit the spot.
Would highly recommend diving with them if ever in Phu quoc.

I've joined the Flipper open water diver. It's my most amazing experience. Within 3 days intensive training, I overcame my fear and built my confidence to fly under water and enjoy the marine world. Thank Johan my instructor for his patience and encouragement all the time for me.

We had a great day trip with Flipper. I'd never been diving before but I felt safe & the dive master was very clear with me the whole way through. I did the fun dive (2x 20 min dives) but my mate had a Padi so he did 2x40 min dives for a cheaper price. Lunch was decent & crew were friendly!

We had a great experience with Flipper. My 14yo son and I completed the Open Water Diver course. Jo was a wonderful instructor. Very serious and thorough. Most importantly, he took extra time with my son so that we all felt very safe. My son and I are hooked on scuba. Also, Willy was really easy to communicate with, boat was great, good food on board. Fantastic overall experience.

Firstly the pick up service needs some work. We took a taxi to a specific meeting point as we was informed the day before when we booked the dives in the shop this was the closest point to our hotel the bus was going, unfortunately the bus drove past our hotel 10 mins after pick up.
Once we got on the boat we then made another two further pick ups from the beach which was a little tedious and ridiculous, it took two hours to the dive site which wasn’t that far away. Once we got to the dive site, I felt like it was all one big rush through the dives just so we could get back. Also it was stated two 50 minute dives the most we got was 43mins and we all came up with 100bar both times.
The dive master team was very mixed, some were friendly and had a lot of enthusiasm and the vibe from others felt like they didn’t want to be there.
We went to the Turtle island dive site, the Visibility wasn’t great but that’s nothing the dive shop could change, but even if the visibility was great I wouldn’t take the opportunity to dive that site again.
The boat is good and the local boat crew were friendly and the lunch great.
Overall it was an average day, We chose this company due to its good reviews. But unfortunately for us we would try somewhere else next time.

I only booked the day before with Flipper Diving Club, I had a great time, 2 dives both great. The staff were friendly and professional, pickup was easy and lunch was substantial.
Visibility was variable but the abundance of coral, sponges, small animals and fish we saw were beautiful. Our instructor Matt was knowledgeable and professional, giving us good tips n tricks to advance our experience. We took our time peering into the micro aquatic world. We saw a glass anemone shrimp so small a magnifying glass was used to see it. I would absolutely dive with this company and Matt again.

Well flipper is one of I think only 2 fully licensed dive shops on the island. Flipper in my experience was slightly cheaper! They can easily take you out for 1-2 try dives where an instructor takes you down and makes sure you are safe the whole time and you get to sample diving to see if you like. Otherwise they do courses that teach you how to dive more independently that last 2-4 days which is what I did and was a lot of fun! I'd recommend dropping into the shop in the town centre to find out more if you are still now sure!

Do you have to be an experienced diver? I am a very good swimmer but do not have any diving certification or training but would love to go diving

You need certification to go diving, or you may ask them if they have something like a 'buddy dive' where an instructor is with you directly. I know they're stict, since they sent away a girl who didn't have a doctor declaration that she could dive with her asma. Afeter all it is your safety they are concerned about. I just went snorking, which was great anyway and a lot less hassle.
