The Baumkronenpfad (tree top path) is a beautiful and significant path which leads one through the tree ecology of one of the few remaining historic forests, now a national park. The path starts from a central tower (44 m / 144 ft. high) and takes one through different levels of the trees. To make the walk even more appealing and... More

Despite cool and drizzly weather on the day we visited we had the most amazing time. Being up in the canopy in this beautiful primeval forest was a real experience. The information in English as well as German was comprehensive and really interesting. The views were spectacular. We spent about 90 minutes on the canopy walk and would probably have... More

It also includes an observation tower with great views over the countryside. I'm not sure if the people at the entrance speak English or not, but the... More

The Baumkronenpfad is time and money well-invested - it's easy to handle, accessible for wheelchairs, walking aids and strollers and fun for all ages. Don't walk past the well-kept, very well-signposted hiking trails down below - they are worth some time as well. The exhibition at the entrance is very hands-on, appealing to children especially, the restaurant offers fine food... More

This is a very special hike anybody can do even with very small children. Our son of 35 months enjoyed it without a stroller. Great that even wheelchairs are able to walk in the treetops with the special lift. The restaurant at he entrance is also pretty good and there are several hiking trails you can begin on the spot...
