My husband and I booked this trip last minute. We did a private tour (for 2-4 people) and it only ended up being my husband, myself, the tour guide driver and the tour guide Andrea. Andrea spoke English and it was easy to communicate with...More

The walk is great, very straight forward. Photos does not do the colour of the lake justice. Go to the gold museum and learn about Muisca and the legend first for added comprehension. Without a guide this walk would only take about 45 minutes. It...More

We were here on a rainy, gray day, but the trip was beautiful. Almost the entire trip is guided, where the main highlights of the native people's culture, the nature and the el dorado legend were told. The sights along the short walk (approximately 30...More

We were pleasantly surprised by this site. While we thought the lagoon would be beautiful, we were surprised by the history behind the place - and not just the El Dorado legend, but the history of the Muisca people. There were signs every once in...More

The hike to guatavita gives you a beautiful view of the surrounding hills. The lagoon itself has a mesmerising color and our guide told us about the indigenous people and their rituals.
