It served as the doorway to the great kingdom of gour. Whenever the king of gour or kings from other kingdom used to pass through these gates they were honoured by firing cannons.

Dakhil Darwaza is located by the side of a big unpolluted lake. It is sorrounded by lush mangroves. The place is well maintained and worth seeing.
