Having traveled to many places on the East Coast of Australia and the South Pacific for diving, we would rate what we saw at Ningaloo Reef as only average. Did 4 dives and 2 out of the 4 were very boring with not much fish life. The Coral beds off of Muiran Islands were nice though. The beaches are lovely in... More

I went snorkeling with the Exmouth Diving Centre to the Ningaloo Reef on an excursion from a cruise ship. We went to two locations by boat and saw amazing coral - many colours and types I had never seen before. Some interesting fish but the main attraction was the coral.

The best place where I have ever snorkelled. An amazing reef, a lot of sea creatures. The beach is one of the best in Australia. You got to look out for jellyfish, a strong current and low tide, that can get you stuck on a sharp reef. I love the fact that this place is not developed and is very... More

Fabulous place to visit! Step off the beautiful white beach and into the warm sea, and you are immediately surrounded by beautiful coloured fish and corals. Snorkelling from the beach is brilliant, but taking a boat trip out further is even more rewarding. This place is idyllic and the sunsets are to die for. Highly recommend and cant wait to... More

Beach was nice but really crowded (the down side of being a really popular tourist attraction) snap on a pair of goggles and a snorkel and dive into a magical underwater world. So much amazing coral formations and hundreds of fish. Swim in the warm water and watch as the sea bed disappears into the blackness the further out you... More

We did some snorkeling and dives at the Ningaloo Reef recently, snorkeling done up at the Oyster Stacks near Yardie/Exmouth then some dives from Coral Bay where we saw lots of reef sharks, turtles and whale sharks! They were a ways away from us in the water but they were still huge. Ningaloo Reef is one of the best reefs... More

Having visited the Barrier Reef on two occasions and seen the devastating effects of coral bleaching on the reef, I would highly recommend the Ningaloo Reef to anyone visiting Western Australia. There is no need to book a tour a tour or take a long boat trip out to the reef: once visitors reach the beach in Exmouth it's as... More

Over the last 11 winters, we've stayed for 9 on the Ningaloo Reef-sometimes at Yardie Creek Homestead CP and always in the same holiday in Coral Bay. I love the weather (most of the time) and the fact the water is usually around 24c. We have a small boat and fishing inside the reef is easy and rewarding. We see... More

We did a snorkeling trip with Ningaloo Reef Glass Bottom boat. The guide (Alec) was fantastic and lifted everyone from the get-go. Navigated like a champ every time that we say something interesting underneath (Sea turtles etc). Stopped for wonderful snorkeling for 45 min or so which was the perfect amount and no stressing us. Beautiful area in general with... More

This is as good as the best of the barrier reef, but much more accessable once you've got here. Exmouth is pretty but small. Staying in the park has to be booked online. Very affordable but fully booked in school holidays. Amazing snorkeling at Turquoise Bay and Oyster Stacks. Can hire snorkeling gear at visitor centre (great place). Lots of... More
