Beautifil basilica commemorating the visitation of the Virgin Mary to this spot on 8th September 1481 in the branches of a pine tree. Over the centuries the devotion has grown, and was imstrumental in the Christianization of the Canaries. The current basilica swas built in the late 18th century, and has some interesting artwork to view. Don't miss the plaque... More

This is a surprise! An elaborate Cathedral in the heart of an inland small town. And it's highly ornate, full of history and attached to a museum with a wonderful collection of liturgical artefacts. The centre-piece of the basilica - Our Lady of the Pines -- is patroness of the Canary Islands so it's no surprise that nothing is spared... More

This is very beautiful church. The decoration is lovely and the small museum upstairs is worth of visit. Important part of Canarian history!

Teror is a lovely little town in the interior of Gran Canaria. We visited the Basilica late morning, the church closed at noon and initially we were disappointed that we couldn't see the treasures behind the altar. However the Treasure Room opened a little later (after 1pm). The entrance is at the back of the church and is worth visiting... More

Visited this church at the same time as the Sunday market, the church is stunning well worth the visit, the town of Teror is beautiful and the road trip up to here is incredible. If you visit on a Sunday please remember the locals are worshipping on a Sunday so it would be bad manners to take photos during the... More

After travelling the world as a crew member on a cruise ship. This is up there in the top 5 places I've been. Gorgeous surroundings, lovely and peaceful with stunning architecture.

One of the most beautifull churces in Gran Canaria. Nice little town up in the mountains. Stroll in the alles, visit the shops. Do not miss the cheese store close to the basilika. How ever have in mind the siesta! Both shops and the basilica keep their Doors closed a couples of hours.

A trip I accidentally found on the Internet. I booked a trip with Mr. Karel who is a native Czech living on this island, and organizes these trips. I can say for myself that was quite the trip. Elevation in the mountains is challenging, especially for my daughter, but the view of the mountains and the view is worth it.... More

Prettiest little church Ive ever seen. It has character and it looks humble from outside, but once you step in you will be greeted by a bright Mother Mary sanctuary at the altar. We found this church by accident when we took the wrong turn to Teror instead of Las Palmas but Im really glad we did. The town itself... More
