About
To arrange a visit on a different day and time, please contact the museum. Don't be put off by the name 'museum', this is not a sterile exhibition of dusty artefacts but a carefully restored Cycladic olive mill. The attention to detail in the restoration is incredible and this alongside a video presentation and a personal talk by the owner make this a really special and informative experience. It is the best preserved animal-powered old olive mill in Andros island. The mill was restored and transformed into museum, in order to offer to every visitor, regardless of age, the option to come close to the underling culture of the valuable product and to get familiar with the old traditional techniques of olive oil production as well. Besides they can see the traditional technics of constructing buildings in Cyclades through the centuries.

An emotional trip through olive oil culture
We couldn’t imagine such an immersive, interesting and interactive experience. We would not describe the surprises you will discover on your own to let you live the deep emotions we felt. All the village contributed to the reopening of this olive mill after 50 years and the old men who were working there when they were young were invited to see the mill working again. Definitely not to be missed! We will visit it again but this time with our Classic Car Club. We appreciate people who have passion to restore so we have the same spirit.
Thank you very much! It is great pleasure for us to share with our museum's visitors useful knowledge about olive oil extraction in a friendly and pleasant way. We try to offer a unique Museum's experience and we are glad to hear that we have success in this. Looking forward to welcome you and your friends again with your beautiful classic jaguar cars.

    Ahhhhmazzing!!!
We LOVED our visit! Dimitris is an incredible host! Combine this with his knowledge of the traditional making process, and his labour intensive restoration of the old press and the building itself makes this is a must see!!! You will never look at olive oil the same way again!
You give us great courage to continue running the museum in such way.It is important for us to offer our visitors an interesting and pleasant visit. Thank you very much.

    Beautiful heritage
Today we could enjoy the fabulous heritage of Dimitris'museum. He build it with his own hands, he made an old olivemill work again and explained us very well how the oliveoil is gained. It was a very nice experience. Thanks a lot to Dimitris. Keep up thé good work. Kind regards from Bieke and Patrick
Thank you very much Bieke and Patrick. I am glad that you enjoyed your visit. I hope to see you again on your next trip to Andros.

A living museum with a great host.
Such a lovely tour of the mill by Dimitris. Full of laughs and enough to keep three teenage boys interested. It lasted around an hour and donations are optional with no pressure at all. Learnt a lot too. We were unsure about a museum visit on what was really a snorkelling and beach holiday, but it made a nice change and was good to see a glimpse of local life as it was. We’d call it a living museum with a conversational tour by the owner and things to touch and move! Thanks
Our effort is to offer a different experience at our museum in a friendly, pleasant, informative and interactive way. We try to do the tour according to the interest of our visitors. Thank you very much and hope to see you again on your next trip to Andros.

    A treasure bundle!
Somehow my original review did not upload from months ago, so I wanted to confirm that my review was seen. This tour was magical and heart-warming, the professionalism and attention to details was exceptional. The property and the tour are real gems…but by far the most memorable treasure of the experience was Demitri, himself. The story behind the Olive Mill, his families’ connection to it all and his ongoing quest to restore and exhibit it are all such endearing stories and ones that will stick with you for a long time, I am sure. Hats off to you, Demitri, you are someone that I won’t soon forget and your mission around this museum is inspiring. Doug

This experience was very delightful. The process of olive oil making was very interactive and interesting. We were also shown a short video of the actual process with his family, which was very wholesome.

We try to offer a unique experience to our visitors in a reconstructed 400 years old stone building, which was always an animal powered olive mill and still keeps it's original equipment. Thank you very much. Looking forward to see you again in the future.

Tips and tricks as to what to but and how to store it best. Nice for kids as well. Also informations on how the old house was built to last.
