If you are on Sao Miguel, you must stop at these thermal pools in Furnas. The temp is pretty much the same at all the pools, but by having multiple pools it spreads out the patrons. There were changing rooms and a small gift shop. Some of the pools had small waterfalls where you could sit underneath and get a... More

WOW. This place is one of the must places to visit. So soothing and just so healthy and relaxing for the 4 Euros. From it's clean change rooms to the security whose there all the time, its a first class place without the first class prices! During my 5 days at Sao Miguel, I have been there twice and I loved it both times. It is an amazing place to relax and enjoy the life. 5 hot pools, one refreshing colder one. Take a bottle of water, you will need it after some hours in the hot bath. Perfect for rainy days!

These pools filled by natural hot springs were beautiful, with nice landscaping and maintained paths. Very inexpensive admission fee, with nice lockers and showers.

A well executed modern take on the classic relaxation spa. Time is easily forgotten when soaking in any one of the shallow pools that channel the water flow down hill. Lush greenery provides privacy while connecting the bather to the great outdoors .Changing rooms, showers, towels and lockers make this a convenient way to while away an afternoon.

This tiny spot is immaculately maintained. There is a small fee to enter, but it is well worth it. There are lockers inside or you can take your items along with you in a plastic tote as you hop from pool to pool. I liked that there were various degrees of heat to the pools. Be warned that sulphur may... More
