The place is unique and not famous yet.The temperature is high so better choose very early hours. For kids is not good, the area is huge and you need about 2 hours to walk it all.

If you happen to be in southern Peleoponnisou it is well worth the effort to see this site. It is spread out over a large area and you really have to be in the mood to walk. It is very well maintained.

HI Ancient messini Ruins Do you know what the opening times of the site are please? I looked at Google earth and it shows a locked gate! Is there a car park? Any info greatly appreciated thanks Allan

Yes there is a car park (its free) but I don't recall much shade so the car may get very hot. The web site cited in the previous response has this informaiton under the museum... Opening hours: Museum: 8:00 - 20:00... More
