ROLE's eco-park was an oasis of calm amongst the hotels. The mix of organic plants, natural dye plants and learning stations really wowed the kids, who loved running around and taking part. It's a non-profit that provides education for local men and women, and the weaving station was the most impressive for me. Free entry but I gave a donation

The park is not far away from Nikko hotel in Bali, It is a great place and something different to do in nusa dua other than the resorts. The local people are really friendly and the Park is just beautiful. What captured my eyes was the hand made traditional Balinese scarves which looks so beautiful and they are naturally dyed... It's great to see this organization flourishing and helping more and more Indonesians. The sustainability programs like permaculture and weaving are fantastic and is having an impact on the lives of those it touches. Hopefully R.O.L.E will be able to continue it's noble intentions of enriching the local people as well as sustaining the environment. Cheers!

Nice place - went there for a children's open day. Run by expats and serves as a social point for many of them. Interesting ideas and lots of hands on getting muddy stuff for kids. Nice crew.

I recently visited the role foundation on a work trip to Bali and it was easily the highlight of my time away. The work ROLE / Bali Wise do for the local community is top notch from both an environmental and social / community improvement aspect. We visited the organic farm where we did some hands on learning then stopped... More

ROLE Islands sustainability Centre really seems to make a difference. A huge farm that grows all the local plants, a fun place to hang around, meet local people and learn about the ecosystem of Bali and in general. I could have spent ours to go through it, of course in Octobre everything seems a little dry but it is supposed... More

A fun thing to do in Nusa Dua besides hanging around the spa's and the beach. It's a lovely farmsite on the hill of the peninsula. They have an organic farming, medicinal plants, tropical plants. They apparantly teach local community how to be a responsible farmer and how to grow more business by sustainable farming methods. There's also a school... More
