I was skeptical at first about our visit there, but was very pleasantly surprised. It's definitely worth seeing if you're in Kandy. You'll see historic sites such as Lord Mountbatten's "bungalow" but also amazing species of trees. Make time for the orchids' house and take...More

A great way to spend a couple of hours in Kandy. The park is well looked after with a number of items worth a special mention - the giant bamboo, and the orchids. It is in a beautiful setting and was not particularly busy when...More

For those who like gardens, are real hidden gem to visit, espially the orchid house. Other major things to visit are the huge bambou trees from Birma and the enormous coconuts from the Seychells. Lunch in the place was go, fresh and tasty.

The visit here was wonderful. It is quiet, scenic, colorful. You walk between the most delicate flowers and trees as big and bold that you will feel small and young. I will highly recommend the fascinating orchid house. We only had one hour to spend,...More

I find it a little poor to pay 1500 rupees each (£7.50/$9.45) to enter what is in effect a park. I understand there is a lot of work going on in the background, and you see this in some of the specialist areas, but it...More

You could spend a day here if you like plants and flowers. Otherwise a half day is nice to get a good look around. The Golf cart is good to hire for an hour as you get to see the whole area.

Yes. There is a charge and for us the time limit was one hour. We had the large cart...I think 7-8 people could fit in nicely. Heard there are smaller carts too.
