A beautiful and peaceful escape from the crowded streets where you can get lost in the heart of well-preserved natural gardens, comprising various types of trees and flowers. Excellent destination for great photos.

It is a very old garden with over 4000 species of plants. For foreigners the entry ticket is LKR-1500/- At entrance a map of the garden is provided which helps to locate some good places. Palm avenues are the best place to visit. There are...More

The gardens are lovely and well maintained however the entrance price for tourists I feel is a little steep at 1500 rps per person. locals paid 30 or 60 rps I believe. It is shame they have to rip off the tourists to this extent.

A visit to the botanical garden in Kandy is a must. I found it compared in size and scope to Victoria's Bouchard Gardens, except that it is filled with trees, plants and shrubs native to Sri Lanka. There are several beautiful, Palm lined avenues, which...More

We were shocked at first by the Rp1500 entry fee (the locals only pay Rp60)! But felt it was definitely worth it. The gardens were beautifully groomed and well cared for, with a vast variety of plants and animals.

You could spend a day here if you like plants and flowers. Otherwise a half day is nice to get a good look around. The Golf cart is good to hire for an hour as you get to see the whole area.

Yes. There is a charge and for us the time limit was one hour. We had the large cart...I think 7-8 people could fit in nicely. Heard there are smaller carts too.
