About
From June 2010 there is one more reason to visit Umbria: Monte Vibiano's eco-tours are the key to discover the secrets of its worldwide-famous wines and olive oil while touring its spectacular estate in central Italy. All tours are conducted aboard electric vehicles around Monte Vibiano, the first 0 greenhouse-emissions farm in Italy. Visitors gather at the wine cellar in the valley and from here they board electric vehicles for a ride to the nearby hills and fields, across hectares of vineyards and olive groves. There is always something happening here, no matter the time of the year: from picking grapes for Monte Vibiano's refined red and whites, to hand-picking olives from century-old trees, the eco-tours are always a chance to observe exciting aspects of life in the fields. The highlight of the visit is a stop at 'vigna Lorenzo', a jaw-dropping vineyard extending for several hectares, a natural jewel that takes its name from that of Monte Vibiano's CEO, Lorenzo Fasola Bologna. From 'Vigna Lorenzo' visitors can see the historic Monte Vibiano castle towering over the valley: it is 2,000-year-old and currently the home of the Fasola Bologna family, owners of Monte Vibiano. With a descent to the valley, the electric vehicles return to the wine cellar and the brand new "Green Wine Bar", made of recycled materials. Here it is possible to taste Monte Vibiano's exquisite wines and bruschetta, seasoned with the company's signature frozen olive oil. The "Green Wine Bar" is inspired by Monte Vibiano's ecological mission and designed by Monte Carlo designer Maryam Fasola Bologna with old woods and hundreds of unused corks.

Castello Monte Vibiano Eco Tour - Such a lovely experience!
Oct 2019
I can't recommend this experience enough. My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to be the only two people on the tour as October is the start of the low season. Desy led the tour and took us to visit the vineyard "Vigna Lorenzo" were she told us the story of the family. After that, we visited the wine making facilities and we had our tasting were we managed to meet Maria Camilla, one of the owner of Castello Monte Vibiano. Desy was entertaining, kind and knowledgeable. The family is really lucky to have her on board. The scenery is beautiful. The food was great and the wine and olive oil was a special treat! The all experience was amazing! We look forward to receiving the wine we bought so we can enjoy the Maria Camilla, the San Giovanni and the Andrea throughout winter in London to remind us of this beautiful autumn day.

ECO-TOUR = A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE !!!!
Oct 2019
The visit started with a warm welcome from Desy and Christina. After a brief explanation, we drove to the vineyard with a little off-road jeep. That was so much fun and special. Desy told us the story and history of there vineyard, very interesting!
After taking pictures in the beautiful landscape, we returned to the cantina. We took the guided tour, between the storage and the barrels. After that, a nice table waited for us for the wine- and olive oil tasting in a fantastic setting. We enjoyed the wines and the products of the region. We can only recommend to do the ECO-TOUR!!! Everyone there is very professional, warm and passionate! I'll finish with the beautiful words of Desy : LET'S LOVE OUR UMBRIA !!!

Can recommend so much!
Sep 2019 • Family
We went with our 14yr old twins and we all absolutely loved it! Such an amazing set up, lots of
fun driving the buggy up to the vineyard (although health and safety is clearly more relaxed than in the UK!) and this really added to the experience. The history behind the vineyard is so interesting and Christina who showed us round was so lovely and her English was fantastic. When it came to the tasting we were not sure what to expect with the teenagers but they were included much to our delight as we have a very European approach to children and alcohol. The wines were incredible, my husband who has never liked red wine came away purchasing not just the white but also a bottle of red. We were given some lovely nibbles to eat and try their olive oil with. Basically our favourite day of the holiday and we cannot recommend it highly enough!

Amazing Tour
Sep 2019 • Family
From contacting the Vineyard to the welcome from Christina, the tour, the tasting the food
and the setting, everything was first class. I can’t recommend this tour or the wine enough (currently drinking a glass of the white). Taking the buggies up into the hills to explore the 200BC Vineyard is all an amazing experience. The tasting in the Vineyards base is done in a first class none imposing way set in amazing surroundings. Highly recommend the tour and the wine

So much fun!
Aug 2019
Very beautiful winery, particularly the tasting area. We loved the decor, which has the philosophy of recycling old wine barrels into furniture objects (my friend especially liked the lamps))). Welcoming was very friendly. Nice people. They came outside to greet us. Our tour guide showed us to the table inside and offered some water (it was a super hot day) while we are waiting for the rest of the group. When everyone was ready, we were taken outside. 4 jeeps were lined up and ready for us to go. Each jeep has 4 seats (2 in front, including the driver, and two on the back). My husband was driving. If you can’t (or don’t want to) drive, they have a person who can do it. The tour guide was also driving one of the vehicles to show the way and we all followed her. The maximum speed on those is 25 km/h, but it’s good for the environment and real fun. We drove on the road, then passed the town and went on the hill where we stopped to visit the vineyard with an ancient wall (it even has a legend behind it). We had some informations there, looked at the grapes and went back, passing by lots of olive trees. The tour photo on the winery’s website is quite misleading showing that you will be moving along the vines, which we didn’t, but the tour was great and we really loved driving in our jeep. Our guide was very nice and had a very good English. When we came back to the winery, we had a tour inside with a stop at the cellars. After all this we got back to our tables and started the wine tasting. It consisted of three exquisite wines (one white and two reds) and some snacks. The food was arriving too late in our opinion. We finished the first glass and only then bruschetta with oil appeared. We almost finished the second wine and only then the board with meats and cheeses was delivered. Not a good timing. Food was nice, except that torta al testo was shamefully old and dry, but we were hungry))). We are locals and adore torta al testo and we hope that usually it’s not like that. The third wine, L’Andrea, was our favorite, but we truly liked all of them. They were all blends. Also, I appreciated the classical labels on the bottles. The tour costs €25 per person and takes 2,5 hours.

Good morning Katrina, thanks for your review! It’s very important for us to receive every day a feedback from our customers, so we can take inspiration from them and improve ourselves, more and more. We are really happy that you enjoyed our winery and the tour. Every day we do our best to give our guests an unforgettable day, surrounded by nature in one of the most beautiful areas of Umbria. For many years now, we have been trying to give our customers a different experience than the one offered by other companies. We love to transmit our values and the attention to our land. Our zero CO2 emissions EcoTour is not just a tour for us, but a real mission. With it, our goal is not just to let you taste our wines and oils, but also and above all to convey all these values, in which we strongly believe, to all those who come into contact with our reality. Knowing, from your review, that we have succeeded in transmitting all this to you is a source of great satisfaction and, certainly, we can say that part of our mission has been reached. 😊 We thank you for your valuable suggestions that have already led us to changes and improvements. Hoping to see you again in our winery, we wish you a wonderful day. Regards

Beyond an amazing experience
Jun 2019 • Friends
My friends and I were treated with such respect and class. This has to be some of the best wine I’ve ever tasted and the history of the vineyard is the cherry on top. The staff was a pleasure to be around and very knowledgeable. There were 12 of us in our group and each one of us felt special in our own way. I recommend this tour to anyone interested in having a fabulous time and a taste of Italy.

Highlight of our visit to Umbria
Jun 2019 • Couples
What a great afternoon we spent at this wonderful winery. We dropped by early afternoon without notice and we could take a guided tour at 3 pm same day, including wine tasting. It was magic, thanks to Manuela and Christina who showed us around and the personal greetings of both of the owners. We tasted great wines, nice food and are looking forward to receiving our selected wines, which will bring back fond memories of a great afternoon.

Magical day!
Sep 2018 • Friends
Wow what a special day we had there! The grounds are gorgeous, the wine is amazing, and the staff are wonderful! We went there with about 40 people as part of a wedding trip and everyone had a wonderful time. They set up a long table for all of us to have lunch and had a buffet with a great assortment of delicious foods. We took 'golf carts' around to look at the vineyards and learn about its history- which was such a blast! Esteban helped coordinated everything for us and he is such a fun and passionate person. Maria Camilla was there to greet us as well and make sure everything was ok- both of them and the entire staff made our day there so much more magical than I could have imagine. I would highly recommend going to this beautiful and unique winery!

Wine Tasting
Oct 2018 • Friends
My sister and I did the extended tour which I recommend to everyone. You get to see the main vineyard and hear a little bit of the history and how the winery came together. The wine was delicious and so was the cheese and meat platter. We even got to meet Maria Camila who was very nice.

Great Concept mixed with Passion equals Amazing Wine & Olive Oil
Sep 2018 • Friends
We had a 40+ person pre-wedding party there. We took the tour and learned all about the various wines, grapes, olives and this special vineyard from one of the very passionate owners. Everyone was very knowledgeable. This is a first rate establishment and they didn't miss a beat. If you are visiting Perugia or Assisi this is a must day tour. We felt appreciated and we certainly got an education while enjoying some great food and wine. Grazie!
