The cave is relatively small but there's many details to see, beautiful iluminated and in detail described by the guide. However the entry fee is quite expensive for the limited time you can spend there.

This cave you must see. It's very beautiful and small. The girl who gave us a small tour is very friendly and enthousiastic. We were allowed to stay in the cave by our selves. It is nice and quiet in there.

The unique thing about Tantanoola is how much it packs into a small area. While other cave systems may be much larger, the sheer number of range of decorations in Tantanoola make it worthwhile. With the unique access to the cave, it is wonderful for...More

We paid $14 each for about 10 minutes of commentary from the "guide". Cave took about 15 minutes to walk around. Seen WAY better! Just by pass it, there is better ahead.

The cave is small but very pretty and worth a stop if you're in the area. There are no stairs to get into the cave so it's particularly good for people who struggle with accessibility. Tours leave every half an hour which is suitably frequent,...More

I was taken aback walking in. It's a little gem! The formations and history the guides give is amazing. Really informative and even my 7 and 4 year old were excited. It's a definite place to visit in Mt Gambier.

While this is an absolutely beautiful cave, I feel that the $14 entry fee is a little steep. The single cave has stunning formations, but on my visit the guide's short, rote delivery was extremely wooden and impersonal. On a positive note, we were allowed...More

This cave has many features that you generally have to visit many different caves to see. It is a small cave, but packed with interest. A great cave for kids to get a 'taster'. They won't get lost and it is easy to exit if...More

Greeted by friendly staff member who was happy to take our group of five through without waiting. Entered the cave with the guide after a 10 minute introduction. Sufficient explaining in the cave including pointing out many of the highlights. The guide left us in...More

We had seen a few other caves on our travels. But this was impressive! Smaller than some other caves, but just densely packed full of Stuff (for the want of some better words lol) Very short information session and talk, but can stay as long...More

There are tours and they run every 20 minuets if it's busy, otherwise whenever you get there the person at the desk will take you in for a tour straight away

How do I get there using public transportation? Do you have to pay to visit and, if yes, how much is the ticket?
