There were three of us and we travelled up on the cable car. The alternative was to ride up and walk back, but it was far too slippery for our liking. It was very cold as we stepped out of the cable car and everything was covered in thick frost and snow. It made walking a bit precarious in places.... More

If you like a great view hike, train or cable car up to the top of the Wendelstein. In my opinion, the best time to visit the mountain is in the Fall on a sunny day when the air is cool and clear. Dress appropriately even if it is unseasonably warm at the base of the mountain. It can get... More

We decided to go up here using the cable car and wolf back. Tickets were €14.50 per person one way. Despite previous reviews saying you couldn't pay by card this had obviously changed as we paid this way. Car park was €3 for 12 hours. Views are stunning and the peace of the place is quite breathtaking. You do need... More

This was a great day-trip from Munich, particularly on a nice day! We got the train from Munich (28 euro for a Bayern Ticket for two which covers all trains in Bavaria for the day) and got off at Osterhofen station. The train was a little crowded because a lot of people were going to a lake a few stops... More

My husband and I had a lovely time up to Wendelstein. There are lovely views as you climb up in the rack railway and lots of activities at the top. One comment I would make is that we arrived for the 11am train and couldn't board as the ticket office didn't take any of our cards (UK credit and debit)... More

Did the cable car ride with my family and throughly enjoyed the views and walking on this mountain. The restaurant at the top was also very reasonably priced. Wish we had time to do the bus and train combination as well

Inexperienced we needed 4hrs to the top without walking sticks(next time I shall use them). The cost to use the ol'... More
