I loved the slow ride up the mountain on the cog train. We did a little more climbing on the well-made path when we were up there. The views are lovely and the paths down the mountain look like an enjoyable tramp if you have...More

Taking the gondola up the mountain certainly isn't cheap, so it's best to choose a clear sunny day. Then the vistas from the top are breathtaking and the Austrian Alps can be viewed in all their glory.

We went up on the Cablecar. The day was perfect. Not to hot and the view was magnificent. Could see more than 100 km. The spot is recommendable.

The Wendelstein offers nice views of valleys and Alps and the Bergbahn is neat way to get there... but, I found it VERY expensive at 34€/pp

Traveled up with some of my mates on a short visit. Lovely safe old train and you can get some terrific views on the journey up and down. The price to use it has risen very much over the years.

Loved it. The views were, literally, out of this world. Beautiful little chapel on the top and, of course, a café.

This railway is a great option to go up Wendelstein mountain - either as a way to visit the top, or to shorten hiking trip (to hike up and take train down or vice versa). Although this year the railway celebrated 100 years since the...More

The Zahnradbahn up the Wendelstein was a very enjoyable experience. Not exactly cheap at €31 each but it was worth it for the almost leisurely trip up (25 minutes) and down (30) for the breathtaking views of forests, valleys, sheer rock walls and snow covered...More
