I went here on a bus from Brest for only 2 Euros all the way to the lighthouse/monastery location. There is a busy restaurant, not cheap but with excellent food, to prepare for a stunning amble around the old monastery. It's on the coastal footpath and you can walk for miles in either direction to the next town or village.

Ethereal in Mist, lovely on a Sunny day, give it a miss if raining! The Lighthouse, the Abbey, the Church and most particularly the Sailors Memorial all worthy of a visit. Bistro 1954 serves a good lunch.

Beautiful place..the most amazing light house and Abbey. Pretty little village..Slight draw back being a lack of places to eat..even a creperie would have been a very welcome place to replenish after seeing such breath taking sights

A really very odd place, with its mixture of buildings. The working lighthouse is great, especially at dusk; the fort, semaphore tower and ruined abbey around it make up a curious mix of architectural styles and I could have done without a couple of them. The (extensive) hotel we were staying in (with a good bistro and Michelin starred restaurant) added to the mix. Whilst we stood there people began, as if at no signal, staging a medieval siege around us, in full costume. Views out across the sea are great and the quirkiness actually does appeal after a time. Certainly worth a visit if you have't been.
