We had a memorable day's sailing on Denebola from Le Robert. We knew we'd made the right choice when we saw their caravan/ticket office with gorgeous illustrations all over. We tacked out to Islet Madam for swimming, snorkelling, lunching and a quick walk to the west side and back. Absolutely gorgeous. Lunch looked great but we opted out and took our own sandwiches.Another islet had amazing Antilles iguanas and an old brickworks that used massive lumps of coral to make quicklime!

Most of us took a turn at the tiller and the auxiliary electric motor was hardly ever used.

Our captain/guide/cook/barman was genuinely enthusiastic about sailing and the environment in great detail. Most important of all, he could speak English as well as French.

We had an unforgettable day with Delise on her lovely sailing boat. Booking was easy - possible online or by phone. Onboard, Delise immediately made us feel comfortable and safe. It was great to help with the sailing including helming the boat! There was a great degree of satisfaction when we arrived at Islet Madame knowing that we had caused a minimum damage to any coral. Even the motor of the small dingy is solar powered!
We stopped and enjoyed snorkelling where we saw a range of fish including large starfish and even some eels! A ti'punch and lunch was enjoyed by all on the beautiful paradise island followed by delicious tropical fruit. We then continued on to Islet Chancel where we saw many iguanas. Delise was very knowledgeable and informative about the the area, the animals and of course the boat.

I'm so pleased we chose Dene Bola to visit the islets. It was great to be in a small, relaxed group (9 people in total). No music or loud motors as you might find on some of the other boats. Sailing was a joy and Delise was very friendly and welcoming. Her good English was very helpful as well!

It was very important for us to choose an environmental-conscious group for an excursion. Dénébola uses an electric boat to shuttle between the sailboat and land, use plastic cups and plates that are not single-use, and educate you about responsible tourism and attitude towards the environment. They take you _sailing_, not a gasoline-powered boat trip to lunch and back. Speaking of lunch... It's really worth it, they serve you appetizers, main dish, salad and fruits as dessert, all local. We've tried some things we never have and never will again! It's almost as if the swimming, snorkeling, and iguanas are a bonus

This was a wonderful day, which we recommend highly! Délice shared her love of the natural environment, and the joy of sailing, on a well-designed and nicely-sized sailboat. Everyone who wanted to take a turn was able to help with the sailing of the boat, which was a lot of fun! The bay is big enough for some real sailing, but sheltered enough not to be daunting, and Délice shows people what to do if they have no experience. At mid-day, we anchored at a small island, where we were able to snorkel in a calm area with a small coral reef, after Délice told us about what creatures to look for. We had an amazing lunch of traditional local cuisine in a small pavilion overlooking the water--we definitely suggest signing up for the food! We had a nice amount of quiet time after lunch to swim or hang out in the shallow waters, getting to know the other people in our group--there were 9 of us altogether, and we really liked everyone. We then sailed to another island, where Délice taught us about the endangered iguanas who live there, and the mangroves and other trees. As we sailed, we also enjoyed some delicious homemade planteur and aged rum. The day was well-organized, and while it was quite full, it never felt rushed--there was enough time to just enjoy each part of it. We were also very impressed and pleased with Délice’s deep and broad knowledge and care for the environment, and her ability to foster a sense of community among a varied group of people who have only just met on the boat. She was also very facile in English, and explained things in both English and French to meet everyone's needs.

This is the only way to explore the Baie de Robert and its islands. It’s lovely sailboat ride, with a few stops —for a delightful picnic on one island, a historic tour on another. Our skipper was both an ace sailor and a charming host/tour guide. We shared the boat with two other couples (and a baby) whom we’d never met before, but everyone was friendly and open. Language was not a problem; everone tried to speak English when our French wasn’t working. We were in such a good mood at the end of the tour, that when we were hit by a cloudburst, we laughed about it. A good time!

What a wonderful experience. My spouse and I spent Valentine's Day with Delice and three other couples/two children. It was a great day from beginning to end. We were late in arriving due to traffic and we were so worried that Delice left without us. Very stressful. However as soon as we arrived Bastien put us at ease and told us not to worry. He wanted us to relax and enjoy the day. Stating, "You are on holiday; you should not be stressed at all". Thank you Bastien.
Delice welcomed us on to her dingy and proceeded to take us out to the sailboat. We were introduced to others on board. Although most spoke French, Delice was a gracious host in communicating in both English and French. Those aboard were a delight. There was laughter, stories and many questions as we proceeded throughout the day. I cannot say enough about Delice's knowledge and love for what she does. She made us all feel at ease and gave us the opportunity to "man" the ship. Steering the sailboat is harder than it looks but thank you for letting me try.
Once we arrived at Ilet Madame, my spouse and I snorkeled first and then swam to shore where we had to loveliest lunch with the others. Rice, accras, chicken, rhum and fresh fruit was the perfect lunch. We loved the accras so much, since returning home we have made our own. Delice you will be happy to know, they were delicious. Please view our uploaded photos. We enjoyed our accras with Clement coconut rhum and a French baguette.
We were very fortunate, as Denebola is a private experience. I found the larger pontoon boats had many people on board which I feel takes away from the experience. Our experience felt like we were sailing with family members. We loved it.
Thank you Delice and Bastien. Wishing you all the best. Joely and Kevin

We spent a fantastic day with Denebola in early January 2019. A group of us hired the boat for a private sail. Bastien, the captain, is extremely competent, and gave members of our group the chance to steer the boat ourselves. His explanations were easy to follow. We sailed through the bay, then snorkeled (OK it’s not the Red Sea but still a fun reef and a nice swim) and then ate lunch on a small island. (We brought our own but they will cater for a fee.) Snorkeling gear was provided. Afterwards we went to another island which was fantastic- huge endangered iguanas, a ruined brick factory, and highly poisonous local trees! Bastien was able to explain everything to us- his English is very good and his knowledge expansive.

The boat was very comfortable for a group of 8 people (it accommodates 9) with ample seating area and shade. The owner of the ship, Delice, is also very nice and helpful. She sent us instructions for finding the ship, but we were able to find it perfectly using Google Maps. This was a very memorable outing!

This experience was beyond what I expected. Eight hours of sailing on miraculously blue waters was phenomenal and Bastian was the best captain! We made stops to explore the beach and have lunch and then headed to see iguanas on another ilet all at our own pace! Throw in rum and add a few specialty punches that used island fruits. We were lucky-we saw incredible catamarans but they were loaded with people and our boat accommodated eight just perfectly, which made it a very personal experience!

Met new people sailing with us and had an absolutely amazing day!

We couldn’t have loved this trip more. Booked ahead of time based on the high recommendations on Trip Advisor and was not disappointed. Boat was the perfect size for our family of ten including young children, teens and grandparents - so much better than the “party” boats that we saw that day. Was very private and personal. Delice and Bastien were both fantastic and made us all feel welcome. Bastien was an excellent captain and instilled confidence every step of the way. Even gave everyone an opportunity to share in the sailing, from raising the sail to working the tillers! Lunch on the island was fantastic as well - all very fresh! The rum sampling at lunch was great as well. Beautiful stretch of beach great for swimming or just lounging. If you’re looking for great snorkeling I’d probably ask for a different itinerary since there was very little to see there. Wasn’t really worth even getting in the water Otherwise, could not have been better. Would highly recommend.
