Lago di Braies was the starting point of our 9-day Alta Via 1 trek. On that day in mid-July, there was a fishing competition on the far right side of the lake, so there were quite a few vehicles in the parking lot, but people were dispersed around the lake so it never felt crowded. The lake itself is a... More

Have to visit lake Prags or lago di Braies! So beautiful lake in the Dolomites area. We walked full circle around lake, enjoyed fresh air, beautiful views, was a lot of people around us... visit and take a lot of pictures!

Gorgeous location. Recommended to visit in the off season as it is overcrowded (3,000 visitors a day). October was very calm, you can hike up until the 3rd week of October and then a bit of snow will set in.

Some of the best hiking in the Dolomites are right there, from gentle tours around the lake to more serious 7-8 hour hikes up to 2500m,

The region is way more that beautiful, but this lake is the pearl of the national park. Both of us where photographers and we came back to photograph the lake several times. It is just priceless...

Beautiful lake and surroundings, but very busy with tourists (september). Good amount of parking space but a shame they built the car park so close to the lake, and a bit of a shock to be charged E12 for parking our van there for one hour!

A lot of hyperbole about this site. If you have seen Lake Louise in Canada, any of the Great Lakes in the US, or indeed Lake Carezza in Nova Lenante, this lake pales in comparison. The reviewer who said this is the most beautiful site she has ever seen must have a limited travel experience. The water is clear, but... More

It's one of those places that looks photoshopped, but it's real. It's definitely worth a visit, but like all beautiful places that are easily accessible, it's choked with tourists. The trick is to show up at the end of the day. We arrived about 5pm and the crowds were on the way out. We spent 2 hours there and felt... More

Easy to access and there is big parking area. We did pay 6€ for the parking. We did have a walk around the lake and it took maybe 1,5 hour. Just a amazing and beautiful place.

We decided to visit this place due to some great images we've seen in the internet. We thought it would be a hike but its nothing more than a tourist attraction right now. There are lots of parking slots right in front of the sea (5min until you can see the lake). To park there costs 5-6€. Unfortunately we started... More
