IT is just a bridge in a picturesque village that is the setting off point for Alpine walking. I'm afraid it isn't spectacular in any way, although it is useful for crossing the river!

Once you walk the 300 meters from the bus terminal (take the "river" not the "forest" path), you will arrive at the main juncture of the valley. Most tourist lodges are within a few meters and on both sides of the bridge. There is a shop and cafe on each side, though I think the shop on the terminal side... More

Must-go bridge. It is a busy bridge that many people walk back and forth & take photos. The surroundings are very nice - blue and clear river + mountain view.

This wooden suspension bridge known as a symbol of this mountain resort. From this point you can see Mt. Hodaka range and the scenery is so bueatiful at any time. I used to take photos at 6am with the early mist over the river.

Kappa Bashi, a symbol of Kamikochi, is a starting point of Kamikochi trail. It was named after a famous novel "Kappa", written by Ryunosuke Akutagawa.

There are quite a few restaurant options as well as other services around this bridge, which itself is nothing special. But, it does alow for a great photo opportunity with the Dakesawa valley and its surrounding mountain peaks in the background. For this though, head to the left bank (moving upstream), there are a couple of nice spots just meters... More

Spectacular bridge. As you start your walk along one of the many trails in the Kamikochi national park, after deboarding at the bus terminal, the first thing that catches attention is this suspension bridge across the river. Spell binding.

This bridge is nice to take pictures but gets so overcrowded. Should visit it early in the morning before crowds get in.
