If you want to see North Stradbroke Island, no one's a better guide than Barefoot Dave of Straddie Kingfisher Tours. We travelled to Straddie with our 3 sons (11 & 14 year old twins). The highlight of their week there was sand boarding with Dave. We also did the 6 hour Eco tour which really showed you all the best... More

We drove a quick 45 minutes Brissy to Cleveland and took a 20 min water taxi ride to Dunwich. From Dunwich we met with our friendly tour guide David and started out the tour by meeting the locals of North Stadbroke Island, koalas and fruit bats were just hanging on the neighborhood trees while kangaroos were enjoying some shades from... We have been coming to Straddie for 4 years now and have done two tours with Dave. He's a great guide. Our highlight is the sand boarding. Highly recommend.

We went on this tour myself, my partner & my parents. Its a fantastic way to spend the day on north stradbroke Island. The Island is beautiful, we saw Koalas, dolphins, turtles, mantarays. We had a swim in Brown Lake & in the sea before lunch. Lunch was a BBQ on the beach (sausages & salads)which was delicious. Overall we... More

We had some difficulties getting from Brisbane to Straddie Island to meet Dave for our tour. However, with the help of some nice Australian peoples were finally made it. Our tour included another couple and Dave had taken them around to see some sights while waiting for us to arrive. He was very patient and kind. Once the tour officially... More

Dave was my saviour during my 4 day visit to Straddie after speaking at the Riversymposium. On Day 1 I had blanked with no-one seeming interested in taking me snorkelling or whale-watching, but then I contacted Dave and ended up doing an ecotour with him every day for the next 3 days! He always arrived bang on time at my... More

Barefoot Dave turned up bang on time at our campground, and off we went on our halfday tour. This is not just a job for Dave, it is a passion. He genuinely loves what he does, and enjoys answering questions and talking about Straddie. My wife had never seen a koala in the wild, so Dave immediately turned down a... More

We ordered a beach fishing tour. Neither we or Dave could not find a single fish. All the teaching was a 5 min tutorial how to use the rod. The rest was just throwing the rod on your own. No promised information about fishing tips, insight into finding a place or anything like that. Dave is a friendly guy but... More

Myself and 4 friends went on the tour with our guide Luke. We did some snorkelling and went on some sea kayaks. All up the tour lasted for about 4 hours. Luke was very knowledgable with both the local ecosystem, as well as the cultural importance and history of the area. The equipment was up to date and in great... More
