The local people were very helpful in directing us to good birding spots. The community hall is open Tuesdays and a good spot to connect with the locals. Top birding location.

Lots to explore in the region. The drive up the Paluma range was an experience in itself. Take it nice and slow and enjoy it. Very windy so avoid if prone to travel sickness. A little side trip to Birthday Creek Falls and the Dam...More

We only got to the Crystal Creek as my wife has a problem with heights and the road to Paluma is very windy and narrow. The creek and the falls was really beautiful and would reccomend anyone to have a visit

We spent a lovely day here swimming and relaxing, with a picnic lunch. The water is clear and cool with fish and small turtles. You can sit on the rocks surrounding the creek. A pretty spot.

My tip is to give Paluma a miss unless you're intending to camp, do a 3-4km bushwalk, or birdwatch. Everything you need to see is either at Little Crystal Creek (veer left, 10 min drive) to view a beautiful waterfall and rock pools; or Big...More

No - even the tour operators have to switch to small mini buses; there are some pretty major grade changes, switchbacks, and minimal shoulders, when they exist at all.
