Nice waterfall near Pointe Noire, south of Deschaies. The access is very steep and I wouldn't do it if it's wet. The rocks are slippery. It's a beautiful setting and pleasant water. Great jumping from the rock ledges. Fun way to spend a few hours.

Very narrow road leading to the waterfall. Little parking space and you have to get creative how to turn your car.

The path down to the waterfall is steep and dangerous even for someone who is physically fit.

After all that trouble of getting there, the waterfall was a bit of a disappointment. I have seen nicer ones. The water in the lagoon was nice green colour but not as clear as I had hoped. Skipped the swimming because the water did not look inviting.

Not a bad little place but really difficult to park and even more difficult to get to - scrambling down a pretty dodgy wet unmade path. Do not attempt unless you are pretty fit and don't mind falling.

We followed our google maps and found the Cascade le Saut de L'Acomat.

There was a shrine.

However, we were amazed by all the waterfalls and some rapids.

I had never seen like that. It was beautiful.

This is a must see! Wow!

We found the waterfall perfectly with the GPS {it's way off the beaten track}.

A little difficult with a 3 year old and bags etc. Definitely not for anyone with any walking difficulties.

I'd recommend going early as we arrived late afternoon and it got really busy and the view of the waterfall was spoilt by people jumping off it (diving apparently prohibited...).

1 hour activity.

So worth the walk in and climb back out to experience this beautiful, tropical oasis! Our teen daughters wished we could have spent the whole day there relaxing by the waterfall, jumping in, swimming and gazing at the tropical flora.

the trip there was referred to me by a local. the descent to the fall is a bit treacherous if you're not used to hiking but is not impossible. make sure you're wearing shoes and clothes that can get wet. getting to the wall was awesome. jumping from the rocks into the cold and refreshing water was out of this world. you feel rejuvenated just swimming in it. the basin where the fall dumps is circular and the current takes you in circles so enjoy it.

Nice falls but overrun by tourists. Apparently this place brings out the ape in man. Result: parents are encouraging their offspring to undertake death defying jumps off the rocks into the shallow Bassin at the foot of the waterfall. If you enjoy seeing children getting hurt, this is the place!

We went for a hike after visiting La Maison du Cacao. It was very steep up and down for about 10 minutes. We saw lots of people in flip-flops but I wish that I had worn my tennis shoes. It's rocky and your feet will be happy if you have water shoes - if you don't, you'll still be fine. After hiking down you cross the creek to make your way toward the pool. We swam in the pool and watched people jump in from the rocky heights. It was one of my 12-year old's favorite spots. Would only go here during the drier seasons.

"Le saut de l'Acomat" is a nice fall in refreshing freshwater, located around Pointe-Noire. The place is small but beautiful, you can jump by the fall (around 5meters high).
however it is accessible through a very abrupt and narrow path in the mud (around 10min walk) so it isn't recommended for very young children or any other person that have issue with their legs.
we discovered it through a morning day spent canyoning with "Yalode" as it was the end of the course.
we decided to come back afterward by ourself because the spot was amazing, fun and refreshing.
