Prior to our trip to Phuket, i have read about elephant abuse from this forum and vowed not to support any of the elephant trekking activities. However, the driver we hired for a day tour managed to convinced my elder girl how fun it would be and she was begging for us to bring her to see the elephants on... More

after visit big buddha we went into the elephant trekking near by and got exactly the same experience as many others. total overpriced, money begging, trying to sell things on the trip and the worst thing was that it was our feeling that the animals were not being treated well.

I was in Phuket in July 2016 and decided to do a combo tour offered by this company. We went to the Big Buddha, Elephant Trekking and Wat Chalong temple. And supposedly meet a baby elephant. The tour was poorly organised with a lot of time spent sitting around waiting for connections and then not that long at the actual... More

We had an absolutely amazing time! We booked with the hotel, and had a transfer to the tour. Started off with a atv ride up to the big Buddha our guide made sure we were ok at all times and helped us safely down the sharp turns. Walked around the big Buddha for about 20 minutes and then rode back... More

If looking at chained baby elephants and being asked to give extra money to feed and medicate them is your thing than this is for you. There was no evidence that the elephants were looked after and at one point my guide used an axe to pull the elephant along by his ear. Distressing and I went against my better... More

We opted for the big buddha, elephant trekking and monkey show package and the only part of the day I would recommend is the Big Buddha. Although you can finish your trip to see the big buddha within 20 minutes as there really isn't much to do or see once you get up there, it was lovely to see the... More

Poor animals, the guide seemed friendly at first but then started to poke the elephant with a big stick with a metal hook at the end… we booked for an hour but after 10 mins asked if we could stop and return… the guide then tried to sell us bracelets promising us the money goes to an animal hospital! We... More

We chose an ATV/Big Buddha/Bird show combo package which was a great way to spend the morning. Highlight was the ATV ride up to the Buddha, and on the way back went off road a bit which was fun. Highly recommend doing this if you have a spare few hours up your sleeve.

The owner is very dishonest. We were ripped off for the time we paid for, plus the machines were not safe and had bald tires and brakes that didn't work properly. We tried to tell them that we didn't feel safe but they wouldn't give us a refund, they had a bad attitude towards us also. It was a very... More

My husband and I are honeymooning in Thailand and while in Phuket wanted to see Big Buddha. Our hotel recommended using At Hill Adventure and including the half hour elephant trekking. The first stop is to see a baby elephant that is chained to the ground with absolutely no room to move or walk. They charge 100 baht for a... More
