It is the most beautiful place i had ever seen during my 10 days trip in Tibet. One of tibet's three holy lakes. with an area of 638km2 at EL4441m. Yamdrok Tso in Tibetan mean Swam lake.

Yamdrok is one of Tibet’s 4 main holy lakes and is regarded as one of the most beautiful lakes in the Himalaya. Just stunning to catch up all part of scenic view in your camera.

This is a gorgeous blue lake, clear sky. A very popular place to photograph and inspire the nature. High elevation is a challenge many travelers at this level. But, well worth a trip.

Very beautiful and peaceful place with few entertaining stops for mountain dog & Yak photos for 10 Yuan. Good half day tour from lhasa... drive not too long and good road. Less shops around so would be good to carry water and a few snacks....More

Very nice lake you can do a day trip from Lhassa (around 3 hrs by group bus/ car one way). You will see some Tibetian dogs there (chained unfortunately though) and yaks maybe. You will see some tourists but not too crazy crowd.
