    A must see!
It is a decent hike, you have to climb stairs down and up, and again to get to the second falls. I suggest taking a rain coat, as it is a rain forest and does rain. I advise mosquito repellent, wear long pants and even hiking boots. The walk can be muddy. The waterfalls are amongst the most beautiful our family has ever seen! The turquoise color is just amazing in person! Do not miss this park if you are in the La Fortuna area. We did everything without a tour guide, not needed in my opinion since there are so many people in the park, you just follow everyone else. We had rented a car and drove from Nayara Gardens. Took us 1 hr and 45mins. Roads are fine, however, at the final end the GPS tells you to take a left on a dirt road. Do not do this! The GPS gets confused. Follow the signs for the park and not the GPS (approx last 15-30mins). At no point should you be driving on a dirt road. The drive is all on paved road from La Fortuna. Once at the park are, go to the parking lot on the left, the first parking on the right, the tour guides are trying to reel you in. We left the parking on the right after we realized and went to the actual park parking further ahead. Here there was no hassle, we parked, paid 2 colones, then went to the ticket booth and paid our entrance fee. Easy.

    Jewel of a Parque
Simply a jewel! The waterfalls are stunning. Approximately 2 hr hike round trip including the viewing of thermal springs and Rio Celeste, and the falls! Stunning! Make sure you wear proper footwear, closed toe shoes, with good hiking treads. Combination of gravel, mud, and dirt trail and conditions can be quite slippery in areas due to the rain.

    Pure nature
This park is stunning. Lots of wildlife and unmistakable green. It rains a lot here so pack a raincoat and comfortable hiking sneakers or boots. The Jewel of the park is undoubtedly Rio Celeste. The hike to this attraction may be a bit difficult for some but it's worth the effort. Don't forget to bring some water. Highly recommended!

    Tenorio National Park Review
Overall, an amazing hike around the park. The thing we liked most was definitely how there were various paths you could split up into different routes (which stopped too many crowds), but also the waterfall itself. Everyone was particularly amazed on the stunning shade of blue that the water gave . 4 stars!

Interesting short hike, not worth it unless you are in the area
Nice hiking, the blue water is unique and they do a great job educating you on why it is blue. I’d rate it as only average, if you are in the area for a full week or more it is worth the excursion, but otherwise unremarkable and the hiking is limited, only about 2 miles out and back. A more extensive trail network might make the park more interesting. A good short excursion however if you are already in the area.

So amazing! Not easy, but worth it!
We did a self guided tour and it was amazing. About 3 miles round trip and the way up was much harder than the way down but great workout and amazing blue water and spots were two rivers meat and water is bubbling due to gasses. Definitely some funky sulfur smells to be expected. Highly recommend this hike, the water was such an incredible color and so many beautiful spots. You can’t swim in it but after, when we were drenched in sweat we went down the road to the Rio Celeste. Google map free Rio Celeste river and that was amazing too. The perfect cool down.

Difficult but glad we did it
The waterfall and turquoise pool are beautiful. However, I had read that this was a moderate hike. Not so if you are older and short. The paths are really steep with high steps set in the path, which is also full of roots and rocks. I definitely would recommend walking sticks

This place was interesting as to why the water is blue. The waterfall is gorgeous. The hike was a great intermediate hike. We saw some wildlife. My family of 4 loved it.

We recently visited this beautiful park. We traveled with our 10 and 12 years old daughters. They enjoyed the walk. The park is beautiful and worth the visit. In fact, this was one of our favorite trips while in Costa Rica. The blue color of the water is magnificent! When we left the park, we met Señor Miguel, who offered us a tubing adventure. Miguel and his sons are the most honest people that I have ever met. He offered a discount, and his sons accompanied us in the adventure. You will meet him right outside the park and also offer sloths viewing. Please try this tubing ride, is fun and safe.
Totally recommend Volcán Tenorio

We did a self guided walking tour of the National Park. Overall the paths were easy to navigate other than a few places were there were streams crossing the path. I was glad that I had a walking stick. There are 500 steps down and back up from the waterfall and that was a bit challenging for someone with some mobility issues. The waterfall was fantastic.
