Best time to visit is during the misty season. Place wont disappoint you. Best for trekkers. it is advisable that you take the help of a local guide. they are helpful, and are provided on request by the forest dept. though the climbing up might seem tiring, the experience is such that the reward is worth a keep.

I and 3 of my friends did trek to Chembra peak. We drove from Mysore and returned back on the same day. Even though this was my second visit we were depending on the google map to route us to the location. However, we ended up reaching the Tamilnadu border. As I know to speak in the local language (Malayalam)... More

We touched the zenith of our Wayanad adventure with the trek to the Chembra Peak – Heart Lake. We parked our car at “Meppadi” and hired a jeep from there to the Trekking start point. A reason for doing so is that the access road towards the peak was in a pathetic condition (one wouldn’t want to risk his /... More

This place is truly amazing. But one should remember it is not at all easy to reach the heart shaped lake. The trekking is really dangerous and at the same time a lifetime experience. It took us almost 4 hour's should to climb at the top and 3 hours to get back as it started raining. It need lot of... More

If you are driving down, be careful of the steep turn on curves. The place is currently not open for tourist but you can still use google map and go up to uphill for a good sunset view. Elephant siting is common there so don't stay at late evening . Preferably leave the place by 6 if u have a... More

Chembra Peak is the highest peak in Wayanad, at 2,100 m (6,890 ft) above sea level. To reach here you have to go to Meppadi and from there it is nearby only. While going towards the peak, on the way you may get a bunch of people who would tell about the road condition and offer you the Jeep ride... More

Great place to visit, if you are planning for a trek, make sure you are there by 7 AM, road to Chembra peak is bad, avoid own vehicle and use the Jeep service, negotiate the prize
