It takes too much to reach the caves. Walking a km and then climbing stairs to see few rocks isn't the best thing you can do in Wayanad.

Walk uphill for 20 mins and you will discover some of the ancient scripts and figures in a cave. Awesome place

It's an okay place , after a strenuous walk of 30 mins or so u reach the top to a view which is not too great yet crowded. The other section which is caves a rock stuck between 2 mountains is still intresting .

Well, it is almost like climbing a rock wall, but had a great time. Well Managed, and have local vendors to keep you company. Not for very old individuals, but overall a friendly trekking experience. Carry NO or Minimal bags please. The engravings are great, with a small crevice at the end of the Carvings, adding to it's mystique. Must... More

Good place to visit but they made it like "man mad one" with steel hand rails , Location is good but should expect a good crowd on weekends.

Edakkal Caves are suggested to youngsters, because it requires climbing. Don't go without a tour guide.

It is as good as seeing any rock outside...trek is terrible and caves are even worse...Its better to spend some time in your resort than visiting this place

So the star attraction here is the nice steep trek to the top. Although it's very easy, would take an hour Maximum. Also, caves are pretty small, nothing much to see there. Its a very good group activity I feel.
