This American monument dedicated to the thousands of American servicemen who loat their lives taking this heavily fortified hill from the Prussian Army in WWI. Our visit was marred by bicyclists who decided to run down the stairs on their mountain bikes--tacky!

The Montsec Monument is one of several magnificent structures erected after Le Grande Guerre by the American Battle Monuments Commission in the years after WWI. It is as magnificent, as are all of the ABMC edifices in France, as anything in Washinton, DC.
