The water features of this hike are breathtaking. You MUST go of the beaten path to get a closer look. There are trails carved out for this. DO NOT stay on the main path or you'll miss out on the best part of this trail. We can't wait to return in the peak of summer to swim in the river!!!... More

Part of the Smokey Mountain National Park, Big Creek Trail and Mouse Creek Falls is a 4.2 roundtrip hike with a slight uphill climb that offers view of the creek for 80% of the hike. We hiked from the parking lot bridge to the upper bridge less than a half mile passed Mouse Creek Falls. I was there in late... More

We stopped here to eat lunch on a recent backpacking trip. The falls are so pretty and cool looking they almost look fake! We had a great time sitting on the rocks, eating our lunch, enjoying the beautiful scenery.

The hike is not bad. It is more on the easy side even though it take a little over 2 miles to get there. The waterfall was sent but not huge. What we fell in love with was Midnight Hole. The water was a beautiful blue and green. People were swimming in it and it was so nice. We would... More

My hubby and I hiked to the falls today. It was a nice, easy hike along the bubbling creek. We stopped at the falls and grabbed a drink and snacks from our backpack. Great hike. Lots of pretty scenery along the way.

Is a great hike relatively easy. However, it is pretty far out of the way. We hiked in the summer and we saw more people than we thought we would. For such an out-of-the-way place, it was a bit more crowded than we expected

Trail is not bad considering you are in the mountains. Temperature was perfect. An easy two mile hike to and from. Lots of areas to stop at and enjoy along the way. We had five children with us ranging from 2 to 11 which was challenging at times. Surprisingly only the youngest had to be carried at times. All enjoyed... More

Very very very great hike with a great view of the creek along the way! Very relaxing and a wonderful place to hike. The trail isn't bad at all but I would still be cautious!!

This is an area we visited our second time at GSMNP. At the time we had very small kids & we looked for relatively easy hikes. This one fit the bill. We hadn't been to Big Creek before. We haven't been back since, mostly because besides hiking there's not much else to see. The best way to get there is... More

This hike is well enough away from the busier sections of the park that you feel as though you've escaped, but not so secluded that you feel you are in the middle of no where. There is a ranger station nearby and experienced hikers wandering through the area as well. We were delighted to find that this was an easy... More
