First of all, to get here from Istanbul you must take a boat to Heybeliada. You have two options, which are either an hour and a half shuttle or the faster 45-minute sea bus. We went with the sea bus, which was fine. Once you are there, to get to Ada Beach Club, you will find employees rounding up people as they get off the ferries to put them on their shuttle boat to their beach club. The shuttle to the beach club is free, and admission to the club was 40 TL per person on weekdays.

The facilities are fine at the club. They have a changing room and outdoor showers to rinse off. It's not really what most people would consider a beach, however. There is a tiny area where sand leads into the water, but mostly it's long wooden piers with stairs that take you down into the water. The water itself was pretty clean, but some areas were a little rocky. They have a DJ playing loud music, so it's not a place for relaxing. They have a bar that serves alcohol. There is a cafe for food. Their brochure advertises mini-golf, which is a joke. They also have one of those big inflatable trampolines for the water, which looked cool UNTIL I noticed that the tarp that you jump on was only covering half of the trampoline. It was broken, but children were playing on it all day. This was incredibly dangerous as a child could have easily fallen into the middle of it and not been seen and gotten trapped under there. I don't know about lawsuits and liability laws in Turkey, but there must not be any. This water toy never would have been accessible by children in the U.S.

My biggest complaint is the absolute lack of transport back to the port to leave the island. We arrived at about 2:00 and by 3:00 were ready to leave. The next shuttle boat left at 5:30, which meant that we had to wait and essentially waste our time in a noisy atmosphere. We were there on an extremely hot day, so the only time it was pleasant was in the water. The place was very crowded for a Monday and looking around, we knew that most of the people were going to want to catch the first return boat out of the beach club, and we were right. We got in line early to make sure we could get out of there and did manage to get on the boat. The line we were in to leave was directly in the sweltering sun, and we stood there for at least thirty minutes cooking before they began letting people on the boat. The boarding process was absolute chaos. There was an employee who was trying to prevent people from going on the dock (because everyone was desperate to leave) and people were screaming at him and pushing past him. As we waited on the boat watching people load, they kept letting more and more people on. I was very nervous about being on the boat because it definitely felt overloaded. I did inquire about life jackets, and the staff member assured me that there were. I highly doubt there were enough to accommodate all of the passengers. Additionally, life jackets were stored in a compartment that would have been difficult if not impossible to access by people, especially those on the upper deck, in case they were needed.

All in all, I would never go back because I don't like feeling trapped somewhere when I'm ready to leave. More frequent shuttles back to the main port of the island would be very nice. Also, the staff needs to be able to handle the crowds and make sure to count and load passengers in an orderly fashion.

It all depends on what you like. It was full of beachbeds, a DJ playing music. I kind of liked it, although the music was too loud (or am i just getting too old).
The 50 lira entrence fee per person is ridiculous! But then the Beach bed is free.
For 2 hamburgers with Fries plus 2 Large beers we paid 64 lira
You can have a really nice swim there . It is a beautifull bay with all kind if boats.

Best beach experience in Istanbul so far!

I'm very surprised of the previous reviews as me and my gf had a really good time at Ada Beach Club. I guess they have renovated the place recently. We rode a horse carriage from the port (which cost 30TL) and bought tickets for 40TL each (It was sunday, could be cheaper during weekdays). Service was friendly, food was above average and sunbeds comfortable and clean. I can see that someone might be annoyed by the constant music that is playing quite loudly, but we didn't mind. Included on the price of ticket was boat ride from beach back to the port.

Terrible place

The beach was very crowded. Bad smell kept coming from the facilities and the sea was very dirty. There was an entertainment crew which never really gave a moment of peace with their ongoing contests. The music was average. Don't recommend the place, you can find better places to swim after all.

We hoped on the ferry from Kabatas - an easy hour on the IDO ferry - and walked to Ada from the port at Heybeliada expecting a delightful beach retreat...which it probably was 10 years ago. It is badly in breed of re-fit.

Note, it is a 45-60 minute walk from the port, or rent a bicycle/catch a horse drawn carriage.

Frankly, the place was falling apart, which is impressive for a few paths, a deck chair platform and a few pier lights. The loos were pretty bad and the main bar building had little to offer. They do not provide towels and the sun bed cushions have seen much better days.

This place could be fantastic - it is stuffed with potential but a total lack of maintenance or disinterest has led it to this appalling state...for which they still insist on charging 40TL (~£11-12). The beers changed price everything I bought one, but this wasn't like haggling at the Grand Bazaar.

Until they invest in the potential...AVOID.
