Peaceful, tranquil and spectacular. I love the fact that there are not many people there to spoil the surroundings. Truly one of the more special places on this earth.

Bonnie Prince Charlies Bay is one of the nicest beaches in the highlands. It is lovely white shell sand. It is safe for children and is lovely to spend some time on.

Gorgeous white sands and clear water. Seems quite shelter and safe as long as tide coming in. Beautiful views a Ross to barra.

Looking west from Am Politician - or from the top of the hill of the cemetery, you can see this long crescent sandy beach. Hard to get to, though, if one has mobility issues. Otherwise doable.

I arrived on Eriskay via the ferry from Barra. It was a short crossing in beautiful weather, and the beach sparkled in the sun with its white sand and beautiful blue water. Arrival also came with a sense of history and the wonder that accompanies such places of significance. I immediately headed to the Politician to "continue my history lesson."

Bonnie Prince Charlie landed here in 1745 and then proceeded to the mainland. The beach has tide lines of pink sea shells and lovely white sand, in spring the flowers on the Machair are fantastic. It is also the place where the ship 'Politician' ran aground in 1941 with a cargo of whisky. The film 'Whisky Galore' was shot here.... More

In the sunshine, the azure sea, gently rolling waves, rockpools and rock formations were spectacular
