Excellent hot spring in Taiwan
Jan 2020 • Couples
This area is not famous than Briton.
But I prefer here than others. Because quality of hot spring is very unique.
It’s looks like Tohoku district in Japan.
There are 10 or more spa and all of them has large bath and private bath.
This time we visited Sakuraoka which has private bathes.
White sulfur spring. One hour include fill the bath with hot water and it’s enough time to enjoy.
We would like to visit all hot spring at Xingyi district.
Here take a 508 root bus from central market bus stop near the Shirai MRT station. And get off Xingyi 3 street.

A quick walk through the Xingyi Road hot springs seems like an interesting idea at first.
Oct 2018
This venue is a ways away from the public Beitou hot springs and requires either a drive, ride or hike up the hill. I personally found the area to be pretty worn down. The hotels offer short visits to soak without a hotel stay, similar to what you might find in Japan but perhaps without the upkeep. At the beginning of the street there was a pack of dogs living in or under a porch of an older building. They were in protection mode and not acting friendly as I walked by and the hair on the back of the adults stood up as if they were feeling aggressive. I visited this area once by car/foot and then another couple times by bike. The dogs were there every time... not very inviting.

Traditional hot spring
Oct 2018
We were taken to the Xingyi road hot springs by our friend. And those are the true places where local people go (I was one of two foreigners on that evening). The baths and pools are separate for males and females. You look for the free locker, take of your cloths and you need to enter the baths naked - but do not forget to take a shower. There were pools with different temperatures and even a steam bath in a small house. Some massages are also available onsite. Recommended experience. A meal at the adjacent restaurant was a perfect finish.

Hot springs along Xinghua Road
May 2019 • Solo
There are many hotels which offer “just take a bath without overnight” in Xinghua Road area. It is a little bit far from Beitou hot spring area, and you have to take a bus or taxi from MRT Shibei station. But it worth. The entrance varies from hotel to hotel. What I took was NT$200.

Rustic charm in the foothills of Yangmingshan
Nov 2018 • Couples
The lanes to the east of Xingyi Rd host a collection of hot spring bath houses downstream from a sulfur lake source. Getting there was a breeze, buses 508 and 536 from Shipai MRT are frequent and regular. We had seats on the bus heading to and away from Xingyi Rd.

The spa experience will depend on the bath house. Don't expect a swanky upmarket experience; the bath houses here are intentionally rustic and old fashioned. This is generally a pocket-friendly onsen experience, and the somewhat ramshackle exteriors of the spas are part of the charm.

Most people come here to soak in the hot springs baths. But the Xingyi Road area is also rewarding for a sight-seeing visit. There is a walking trail from Lane 260 linking up to Lane 402, which presents some great scenery along the way. Visitors can also walk up the stairways next to the car park at Lane 402 to view the unique geology of the area.

When we were there (early Nov 2018), there were lots of construction activities going on. This did spoil the appearance of the place, but not the experience.

You should really try that one out. Its very close to the city - extremely easy access via public transport.
Culturally quite interesting. It belong to Taiwan and is very relaxing as well.
You easily get in contact with locals. That's great.
Its cheap as well. Although not very big - try it!
Very very relaxing ...

Xinbeitou public hot spring

Worse place to go . Water is filthy with dead skin floating all around with 99% elderly crowd . You are in a for a treat for the elderly version of bay watch . Forced to buy Swimming costume cos deemed inappropriate by the people running the place . Better off spending money elsewhere

Relaxing experience
Mar 2018 • Friends
Very good experience. This area is also a very good place for a walk or for a run. At Shipai MRT station (in your right-hand side upon exiting), take the bus 508 and exit at the top of the hill (it's a 20-minute ride). You can then go down five hundred meters to find this place (on your left-hand side when going down). Don't forget your swimming suit and a swimming cap. Enjoy the relaxing experience!

I never had been there. My supplier invited me to take a bath in teh hot spring.
Well, I was naked with him and other people. it was strange but at same time good feeling. The hottest swiming pool was unconfortable at first time but later, better.

Hot Spring Experience, definitely worth a visit, if you hadn't done so.

Hot Spring is nothing new to Local Taipei residents. Bei Tou has always been the most well known hot spring areas in Taipei for many many years. The walking trails are not steep, and easy to walk. Both sides are lined with hotels offering hot spring bath. It's a very relaxing walk, and definitely worth the trip.
