Hell Valley is a popular destination
Oct 2020
Hell Valley has been a favourite destination for young people for many years. The thermal springs are very hot and steamy -- you can boil an egg in the water! The smell of sulphur is strong, and the steam wafts over the water. To get there, take the MRT to Beitou than take the branch line to Shin Beitou. From the station, it's about a 15 minute walk.

Public Scenic Area with Hotspring
Nov 2019
We took the metro to Beitou station and then had to take a special train to Xinbeitou station. From here, we walked to Beitou Thermal Valley. It was an easy walk. Just follow the direction and crowd. You could see the steam coming out from the pool. Nice place and free to visit. The natural sulphuric spring has very high temperatures. You can boil eggs here.

Scenic hot springs
Feb 2020
This is a short walk from Beito hot spring museum and about 15 minutes walk from Xinbeito station.

The valley itself is quite small and when we were there there was a lot of steam rising and billowing across which made for great photos. It is green sulphur and you can see all the rocks in the creek tinged a green colour.

There is a nice viewing area in which to take photos when you first enter the area and also a small waterfall.

There wasn’t to much of a sulphur smell when we visited.

There is a shop selling souvenirs and public toilets with some nearby seating available.

It’s not as large or impressive or pungent as the hot springs in Rotorua -New Zealand but it is worth a visit.

Unique Experience
Jan 2020
Hell valley was interesting, more-so as I had visited the hot-springs museum prior to taking a short walk up to the thermal valley. The smell of sulphur was stinky, but the view was quite mythical. I could almost imagine a dragon coming out of the steam.....

Nice little walk from train station. Enjoy the view and interesting to watch. It's free to enter, what do other people expect.

Okay
Jan 2020
Having seen many similar (and often more interesting) hot springs in other parts of the world this is not particularly impressive - but since it is just about 10 min walk from other attractions in the vicinity of Beitou Park, it is probably worth a quick look

Great experience to get to a natural hot spring up close. Just a short walk from the train station. Crowded on a public holiday.

Get up close to a steaming hot spring on a volcano
Dec 2019 • Family
Located about 400m from the Beitou Park, this place is definitely worth a visit. There is nothing like seeing huge clouds of steam rising up a small hot spring lake. There is a faint smell of sulphur in the air but it is definitely not overpowering. Great experience for the kids who were quite awe struck.

Lovely place. Free admission. Nice location to take photo. Not far walk from Xinbeitou station. Do try the hotspring egg at the stalls nearby.
