The village is a cluster of very old style dwellings for economically weaker people. The beauty lies in the fact that simple murals in their vibrancy bring so much joy to everybody who visits. Highly recommend for a visit.

Very interesting place to learn about a grandpa and his passion to save a little village before destroying. Great job “grandpa”!

Besides the eye candy of a quaint community dwelling... The inspiring story of Rainbow Grandpa who painted his community dwelling with the hope of preserving it from government reconstruction turned the whole area to one of the top new tourist attraction in Taichung. It speaks...More

It is winter in December and it gets dark very early. It was already dark when we arrived at Rainbow Village, the place is lit with lights and there are still visitors wandering around.

Its in Taichung. Look at the address, or google. It is accessible by bus, but the easiest way to go there is by taxi. Taxis in Taiwan is quite cheap.
