This tea shop provides authentic local tea with a stunning view and also some food. If you want to experience something interesting, you may like this one. Plus, all of the staff members are so friendly. They would professionally show you how to make good tea. Although the price is a little bit expensive, it's good to try.

This place is quite hyped and talked about in the internet. Expensive - It's about 300 Taiwan Dollar or roughly 300 Baht or about 10 USD with today's exchange rate. You get a tea service with introduction, delicate cups and know how to understand aromas, how to drink and refill the tiny tea pot with a group of snacks. Sesame crackers, mochi, a very delicious strange dried plum, and a green tea crumbly cake. Everything is the size of a thumb. You can choose the restaurant which i'm not sure what's the food served, and the drinking tea on the patio overlooking the sea and mountains. When we went it was raining so we can't see anything. Drinks start at 180 for coffees and some cocktails and 100 Taiwan dollars for peanuts and some small snack tidbits. It is expensive but for once in a lifetime experience of tea it's doable. Restrooms are clean which is a plus.

Loved the place, the location is very crowded, suggest u to take a shortcut near the toilet, and then u can go to the entrance when going down the stairs. They only serve 1 menu which is the tea set for one person, thats tea and cookies set. Worth the experience, servants are friendly and multilingual.

Took a trip out to Jiufen to see this tea house but the place was over crowded with tourists with many people taking photos of the tea house. It is beautiful but it is also a misconception that this tea house influenced the Japanese cartoon "Spirited Away". Also having tea in this tea house was average as the servers were more looking forward to getting rid of you to turn tables quickly. The tea wasn't as good either. It's a bit of a shame...

Total disappointment.
We were there at 150pm on weekday.
Noon sunlight were shining in to the seats with view. Either you sit under the sun or sit without the view. You have to make a choice.
Worker was wielding, banging and knocking loudly on the roof. Wielding smell was stronger than the supposedly aroma tea.
Though staff said welcome but is with a casted cold face.
No queue nor full house. Yet staff were standing around and informed us to bent down to get the big kettle of hot water on the floor to fill up the small tea pot OURSELVEs.
The high tea is more like a MINI high tea. The tea cakes were the size of my thumb!

We went to A Mei teahouse around 730pm and they did not serve food anymore, only snacks. We got the set for two (tea for two, with 4 different kinds of snacks) and it was NT$300 per person. The lady who was serving us spoke too quick so we couldn't understand her, and she was quite rude because she was very impatient when we didn't understand what she was saying, which is why i gave it a 3/5 due to the service. Other than that, the experience was great and the snacks too (quantity is really small though haha).

Nice and quiet in the morning. Sit here for a couple of hours and admire the view of the mountains, coast, mist!

Visited because of the Spirited Away connections and it is a beautiful building inside and out. We had the tea with snacks options and it was perhaps more expensive than average in Taiwan, but you are paying for the location and views so it seemed reasonably value.

First , its too crowded. You can go to quieter teahouse with better view. We booked ours online , when we went there we realized we would be better off having our tea somewhere else. The tea were excellent however
1. 2 of the snacks more like a sampler size
2. Crowded elbow to elbow
3. The waiter was explaining in auctionlike speed.
Didnt have anything to compare it to in the area . However we saw nice quieter ones with better snacks selection posters and u can take pictures peacefully at other tea place

Stopped here for a few hours during my trip. Had an early day and needed a break. The staff at Amei Tea House are very nice and they showed me how to drink the tea. It was wonderful.
The tea was delicious and the view was great. Pulled out my device and just started reading a book. Very nice atmosphere. I was lucky enough that it wasn't busy.
