Merridale is a delicious destination in the Cowichan Valley-an apple...

Merridale is a delicious destination in the Cowichan Valley-an apple orchard, craft cider house, small batch distillery, and wedding and event venue. Learn about the production of cider and spirits through a tour. Stroll the orchard while the kids search for faeries living amongst the cider apple trees, and then step up to the tasting bar for a guided tasting of our cider, spirits, or fortified ciders. Shop for local artisan items in the farmhouse store. Celebrate a special occasion with family and friends at a unique and beautiful venue. Experience glamping on Vancouver Island with a stay in one of our yurts. Check our website for upcoming special events, like our Sunday Pizza Nights. Pets are welcome! In our bistro, enjoy local cuisine, a large patio overlooking our orchard, and, of course, apple cider hand-crafted just steps from the bistro's kitchen. This authentic Vancouver Island restaurant combines cider pairings and seasonal menu items inspired by nearby Cowichan Valley farmers, vintners, and cheese-makers. Bring home delicious baked goods made fresh that morning in our brick oven. Merridale is located in Cobble Hill, in the Cowichan Valley, on the southeast coast of Vancouver Island, about 40 minutes north of Victoria and 1 hour and 20 minutes south of Nanaimo. Open daily.

We were driving back from a weekend in Victoria & saw the sign. As we were not in a hurry it seemed a nice detour on a pleasant day. Not disappointed by the cider. A little put out by having to sit on a stool when the dining room was light with patrons. The server was very serious about this... More

My husband and I decided to celebrate our first anniversary at Merridale. The grounds were wonderful - loved the little faerie touches that were done. Although the cider was not my style (sorry, I'm a fizzy and sweet kind of gal), the food was amazing. And it ended up going from overcast, to drizzle, to rain, to a blizzard. All... More

After the fair we stopped by for lunch. The setting and the food is worth going back for. We also went for a Green Party campaign ..yummy pizza that night.

It was a beautiful place to visit and we did a tasting, got some good cider. The restaurant, however, is a joke. It was too expensive for the quality of food we got and the amount of "extra" charges on the bill were silly. We had to ask what the mysteriously labelled charges were to our waitress and she couldn't... More

We visited off season and took a self guided tour. Signage is well done. They have beautiful grounds. Their gift shop and restaurant are worth a visit. We plan to return here in the summer. Their cider and brandy is tasty.

Every time we vacation on Vancouver Island we make a point to stop for the cider tasting at Merridale, the cider is always crisp and the self guided tour is always a great way to get into the cider sampling mood.

We planned our visit with friends to coincide with lunch and enjoyed both the food and a cider tasting. I have to admit I prefer wine to cider, but Merridale has a wide range of cider and the very dry cider was right to my taste. We also tried one of their cocktail flights...very tasty! We were also lucky enough... More

I have enjoyed Merridale with my husband, with a couple friends or as a big organized group/tour. The grounds are lovely, very tranquil in the countryside. The atmosphere is joyful, most people are pretty darn happy, especially after a tasting! Don't miss out on this gem in the Cowichan Valley!

Merridale Cider is a well kept place. Grounds are nice and orderly. Staff concentrates on groups or high end purchasers, couples can wait. Very chatty. Purchased a Merri Berri and a Cyser. Both were fair.

Thank-you Ronnie, Matt and Jackie for your awesome hospitality to our group of 10 wine-touring ladies. You were our first stop and our best stop! The grounds at Merridale are absolutely stunning, the cider delicious, and the kind and fun staff are just the cherry on top. I've been many times and plan to be many more. Thanks again!
